Man Eats Every Meal at Six Flags Story - Is There Places with a ‘Meal Pass’ in Australia?

So I’m sure some of you have seen this story about a guy in the US who had had lunch and dinner everyday for years at 6 flags paying just $150/year to save money. It’s basically a theme park pass but you can add a meal pass that includes lunch and dinner.

Disregarding the potential health consequences is anyone aware of anything similar in Australia?

Off the top of my head I can think of maybe:

  • annual airport lounge passes, but these would be expensive as would travel to or parking at the airport
  • golf clubs?
  • maybe some premium gyms include food?

So without going to prison or entering residential age care, both costly in their own way. Is anyone aware of some sort of plan or subscription to something where food isn’t necessarily main service on offer but is included and would work out cheaper than buying food the usual ways.

I thought the people of OzB would know if anyone does.

Note I’m unlikely to do this myself, just curious.

    Sure ;)

    • Haha… in a different stage of my life I would have been all over it, but this kinda thing doesn’t suit family life.

FIFO mining jobs pretty much all have huge buffets for breakfast and dinner. You get paid heaps and don't spend a cent!

    • Not much to spend it on when you're out there though.

2 meals per day, 365 days per year equates to roughly 21c per meal, at that level I'd have some concerns around the quality of nutrients I was putting into my body :D

Costo is the cheapest I can think of, slice of pizza and a refillable soda will set you back about $4 so still quite a bit more expensive than this example.

Imagine if food charities local to Six Flags purchased memberships for those they fed…

    • Could you imagine how quickly the policy would change if this happened though?

A man in China bought a refundable first class round the world air fare. Over the course of the next year, he changed the date he was flying about 6 times but ate at the first class lounge most days. When the airline finally worked out what he was doing, he cancelled the air ticket and got all of his money back.

Sign up for all the birthday promotions with different dates.

  • I kept going back to a university restaurant that offered $5 dine in and takeaway meals because my student ID still had 2 years left before it expired. These days the prices are little bit higher but they don't even ask for your student ID.
