Hi looking for a surge protection board for living room TV ps5 ,shield ,etc and study with PC printer etc, what's the minimum protection I should be looking for ?
Seen 6/8 way boards with surge protection around $50 Amazon and then seen ones advertised Harvey norman /JBs in the hundreds of dollars .
Only rated to withstand a power surge of up to 900 joules would not recommend for anything like a PC

Whole house protection rather than multiple boards around the house.
If your meter box has the space shouldn't cost more than the price of the device plus the electrician's fee, think it took about 30 mins to install.
Wow ,oks ,does this keep working for more than one power surge? ,Bought a power strip from Aldi about year ago with the coaxials in the board , light says surge protection not working so I assume some power surge buggered it
I bought the same one. Still working.
To the best of my knowledge it will work for more than one surge, think I've gone through 2-3 now and each time I'll check it in the meter box, there is a little window on it that will turn red if it needs to be replaced.

You need to total up the wattage of all the devices you are plugging into the same board.

That should technically be sufficient but double-check first or spread them across different outlets.
