Baby nursery furniture: Wanting to know what kind of deals you would like to see

Hi all,

I have recently jumped on board the family business at Tasman Eco. We previously sold to retailers and have recently done a big push to move direct to public via online (www.tasmaneco.com.au).

We were chatting about Black Friday and considering I spend most of Black Friday on ozbargain, I thought it would be worth reaching out to this community. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what you would like to see on sale? or is there any type of offer we could run that could help the ozbargain parental community out:) It doesn't have to be Black Friday specific.

Appreciate your thoughts in advance!

Cheers

I got excited when I thought you were a nursery selling furniture.
Then I got deflated when I realised you were a nursery furniture seller.

    • I updated the title to avoid hurting more people - if we every move into being a nursery and then one day need to sell furniture you will be the first to know

  • Bundle deals are good - baby due soon, we bought a cot, change table and a mattress in a bundle for a slight discount when compared to buying them separate.

Might be worth looking into how to better position your website for google searches as well to be on the first page.

    All the best!

    • google is the modern day warzone.

Appreciate the insight on the bundle you bought! Best of luck with the new baby!!!

  • Baby is due in a few month and we are looking out for bundle deals.

I know what type of offers I don't like seeing (not talking for anyone else):
    - spend $XXX and get $YYY discount. eg. Spend $500 and get $50 off.
    - %xx off everything (excluding xyz).

    • perfect - so this really helps because we want to avoid the spend x and get a discount. (aside from free shipping)

I might message you privately just to better understand your situation if you don't mind:) Just realised I was unable to. If you wouldn't mind I would love to chat to you just to understand what you look for in a bundle. No issues if not, as an upcoming parent I don't imaging you have a lot of spare time.

  • I’m past this stage as our bub is two but we do have a Tasman eco cot that we got a baby bunting. My thoughts on pricing would be that it would need to be the same or cheaper delivered than what I could get in a physical store. Reason being is that it’s easy just to pick it up so delivery isn’t a real cost. I also get concerned about returns if I buy online, I like the reassurance that I can take it back to the store and not pay shipping costs if it’s faulty. Bundles wouldn’t really have helped us as we got a second hand change table for free and choose ikea drawers. The only thing that we bundled was the mattress with the cot, I think it was $99 for the mattress when buying a cot. One thing could be a bassinet and cot bundle, we actually didn’t realise we’d need a bassinet until the last minute. In retrospect I would have waited until bub was born to get the cot since we did the bassinet for the first 3-4months.

Bubs is due next year and we've been given a few things/bought a few things already, so personally, bundles wouldn't really help us.
Would prefer discounts on specific items e.g. we've been eyeing the pocketspring cot mattress from Tasman Eco ;)
Discounts on change table, chest drawers etc. would be great too but they're probably items we'd be willing to either buy second hand or buy from non-baby brand specific stores like ikea, kmart etc.

Agree that pricing would need to be competitive and cheaper than a physical store as they price beat/price match and we could easily pick up from the store. Warranty/ease of returns is definitely something we would consider as well!
