Fixed --- I cannot find a "Prepare" button to do my tax return (myTax) on the linked ATO homepage in myGov account. Advice?

Hello,

I am trying to prepare my tax return using myTax for the first time in my life.

I have a linked ATO account in my myGov account.

For the life of me I cannot find a "Prepare" button to do my tax return (myTax) on the linked ATO pages in myGov account.

I have checked out the information in these urls without making any progress so far.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

I called ATO today (Sunday. Didn't know they work during this weekend.) .

The lady on the phone said she had to manually relink my ATO with mygov , for some reasons.

So all is good.

      Thank you very much for the compliment.

      I do try to get my nouns and verbs and spelling and grammar correct when I write.

      But sometimes I still make mistakes.

      As they say , it happens to the best of us :)

    IIRC, the link is "Lodge", not "Prepare" towards the top right hand side of this page:

      Thank you very much.

      This is where I went.

      And it says:

      For action
      Lodgments are up to date.
      Payments are up to date.

      Just cannot find anything on that page to click on to start preparing my tax return.

      Looks like I have to use one of those online tax agents.

    Call the ATO.

    Also, do you have a TFN?

      I have.

      Today they are closed.

      Tomorrow will be too late.

          I did not know they are open today on Sunday today.

          I called earlier and it was a bunch of automated press here and press there.

          I shall try again.

    Did you work?

    Do you receive a non-taxable centrelink payment?

    Sometimes centrelink will tell the ATO Lodgment is not required if the above is met.

    Otherwise, in your ATO online account go to income tax > lodgements and see what it says for your 2021 FY.
