Any Places in Sydney That Sell Sin Juk Guin (Dim Sum Dish)

It is basically a tofu skin or beancurd roll item that looks like a spring roll but is soft and flexible and sold in a takeaway container.

Years ago was a really great item to stock up in the fridge and then pull out and heat up in the fry pan and was all ready to go.

Not sure if any places in the far west sell this or what the proper name is but all I can remember is sin luk gin.

Used to buy it from flemington nsw iirc.

Looking for a business that ships it to Katoomba or basically does delivery otherwise going to have to go on a long trip with my hiking bag to get some.

Sydney has changed a lot in 10 years so not sure of the current dim sum delivery or frozen dim sum landscape.

Thanks hope you all stay well and safe take care for now look after yourselves.

You're not talking about this, are you?

I can't really help you on where to get it (I don't live in Sydney!), but at least I can make your query more accurate, if I've gotten it right! Whenever I'm down in Sydney I'd make a visit to Ho's Kitchen 中華點心包廠, and it looks like they now deliver. Having said that, I'm sure that there are much, much better quality options out there.

    Hope this helps.

    • Omg that is the one the second link thank you.. now i have something to search up on some online grocers.

Yeah i will have to try around but man i remember this being super tasty and easy to prepare at home you can literally just microwave it if you are in a hurry or heat it up in a pan usually the juices are enough to cook it no oil needed but if it doesn't cook then a little oil is needed.

  • most Asian grocery stores should sell it (along with other frozen dim sims), if not surely they order some for you?

according to Google, there are a few shops in Katoomba.

    • There is one Asian grocery shop I know of in Katoomba next to aldi but they don't have it.

You tried Lai Shing Dim Sim Factory in Marrickville? They supply to restaurants and sell to public.

    http://www.laishingdimsim.com/product/fried-bean-curd-rolls/

    • This might be a winner it looks like they deliver to Katoomba NSW 2780!

  • I believe u can get this from the new dim sum house in Hurstville, if it is what the first commenter linked, yea I had some which my mum brought home. Was good.

(Its not rly a restaurant, u just go and buy boxes from them,)

    • Have a store name or link?

I want to see if they can deliver to Katoomba.

      • It’s called ‘Delight Dim Sum’, unlikely you are going to find a place that is willing to deliver that far tho, I don’t think they will earn profit from it, unless you pay for the delivery which is probably going to be pricey

        • Yeah looks like they don't deliver outside their area.

They don't even have a website as far as I can tell.

Well at least I have a place to go to now if I am ever in Hurstville.

This place in Carlingford sells it frozen in bulk or smaller quantities, and have it hot and fresh too on the weekends:
    https://lungkeedimsum.com/menu/

    • Can vouch for this place. An absolute local gem, with lines out the doors on weekends.

    • Wow this looks good. Looks like im doing a drive to Carlingford this weekend…

    • Damn doesn't look like they might deliver to Katoomba can't find an order form.

Maybe I will give them a call in the morning they seem closed now.

  • Sin Juk Guin

I had a laugh when I read this!
I knew exactly what you were talking about because it's exactly the way I would've written it! haha

    • Well for the longest time I thought it was sin luk Jin.

Only recently I found out it is called something life a pork mince bean curd roll.

      Or tofu skin roll.

  • You could probably try Sydney Best Dim Sim.
    http://www.sydneybestdimsim.com/contactus.html

    • Sent them an email to see if they deliver to my area and how much their retail and wholesale options are.

  • Looks you are looking for 鮮竹卷,or 腐皮 ? Flemington or Cabramatta or Burwood, as long as you see Asian shops then ask them, can get what you want plus more.

    • Looking for delivery to Katoomba NSW 2780 also as I can't do pick up atm.
