Chemist Warehouse click and collect

Used click and collect at Chemist Warehouse for the first time today.

A few hours after I placed the order they emailed me saying multiple items were no longer in-stock. Just wondering if this is a common thing with them? I've used click and collect with other stores and never had this happen.

Dunno how common it is, but it's certainly happened to me with Chemist Warehouse C&C orders before. Pretty crap inventory management system and on-line store integration.

I agree their inventory management is poor. I often go to place a c&c order and find the item is listed as out of stock or only 1 in stock in my store. I walk into store and there will be a dozen or more of said item.

That's pretty poor form from a big company.

    • Thanks for letting me know. Don't think I'll rely on their click and collect in the future.

      • One thing about using c&c is that it is quick. Any orders I have placed have been ready within 10 mins. Actually the last one I had barely lifted my finger off the submit order button and got the email saying it way ready. I also like that everything I have bought has been in a paper bag.

Unfortunately though, their swiftness is let down by poor inventory management. So if the required item and quantity you want is available online, go ahead with c&c if you want. But if it says out of stock/not the required quantity, go in store to purchase in this case as there is a good chance that it may well be available.

        • Do you mean stock that is available for delivery? The things I chose said they were available at the store for c+c.

@yanyan1: No not the stock available for delivery. I have never used their delivery. I'm talking about ordering online for c&c at your local store. I quite often find it says item/s are not available for c&c at my local store. I will close the website, walk into store and there will be multiple stock of such item. Website will most likely say they are available for delivery but I mostly have low value items so not worth it.

Basically, we are both experiencing the same thing (poor stock management), just in a different way. You placed order for in stock item, which they cancel and emailed to tell you was actually out of stock. I have not been able to order online as it says out of stock when the item is actually in stock.

Yeah it can happen for stuff that is shoplifted. Database has it in stock but it is gone from the shelf.

    • Is shoplifting a big issue for them? I wouldn't have thought so with the security guards always checking bags etc

      • Given they have guards yes they have shoplifting. Certainly my local chem warehouse has a lot of the high value stuff "on request" when you look for it on the shelf.

I cant wait or click and collect to die.

      Why?

      • Its a pain in the arse, specially or shoes, clothing, and many other items that you cant try before being screwed around at the front door - eg officeworks lately.

I also like browsing shops myself

the worst is their adult section, it is forever lost and the only way to get the items is C&C, one thing they never missed is verifying your identity and confirming each and every item reading it out loud with 10 or so old people behind you waiting to pay for their prescribed med.

    • Haha that would be a bit embarrassing.

No, this hasn't happened to me at all. I do click and collect if something's on sale. Sometimes they don't have stock so I go to the store directly.

My beef with them is whenever I'm ordering:
Some things cook and collet only
    While
    Other things online.

Nearly every order I get a Combo of both these.

I've had this happen too, so frustrating.
