  • Cheapest with the Afterpay eBay deal (if they do bring them back again around Black Friday).

    • Yeah I'm waiting for the rxv6a to come back in stock at radio parts ebay so I can get one hopefully

"Display screen helps motivate you and enables you to customize your brushing experience".

What have we become to require motivation to brush our teeth!

    • +1

some people like extra flavour when they eat

      • "Chilli, more chilli!"

Do your gums (and your wallet) a favour

Seriously though, most bristles are too hard, which includes the ultra soft types once you've used them for a couple of months. I've found the electrics too harsh, don't improve the incidences of caries (strict regimental brushing and flossing for that, and dropping the intake of refined sugars), and appear marketed to get consumers to spend up for the buy-in then keep them in their ecosystem for overpriced replacement heads.

    Sweet lookin' toothbrush, though!

I feel like I get alot better clean with electric. I get lazy when I brush manually.

why do ou need a $400 toothbrush

    • Why do people need 20 million dollar homes, super cars, $2k+ smartphones etc. At least with a tootbrush it will stop the health of your mouth from deteriorating

        • +2

And what is that supposed to prove? I should take the advice of the article over the extremely clean feeling mouth I have now or that I should ignore the noticeably less plaque and build up I have on the back of my teeth top and bottom and go buy a normal toothbrush cause an article from the age told me to

          • @Dunko: So you are using the $400 toothbrush already?

Article says electric toothbrush base model

      • +2

a tootbrush it will stop the health of your mouth from deteriorating

So you need 400 dollar brush ? Ordinary brush can't do the job ?

        • After I purchased an electric oral b recently I will NEVER go back to a normal toothbrush, after I'm done my mouth feels twice as clean a feeling I had never felt with a ordinary toothbrush. Don't get me wrong 400 is a lot for a toothbrush especially when you consider its on sale, but I plan to keep it for as long as it lasts so I can justify the price

      • Those people with 20 mil homes are not on this site though. :)

        • Their kids might be.

          • @nightelves: Maybe. To check whether they can acquire the site to their investment port folio.

        • How would you know

        • +1

How do you think they saved up for a 20 mil home in the first place?

        • Common misconception that the wealthy aren't smart with finances. Many are even more disciplined than the lower and middle classes, beyond the 20 million dollar home and lambo, of course…

        • I'm glad mine is only $19.8m. I still need all the savings I can get. :)

'why do you need a $400 toothbrush'

Yes this. For that kind of money I could (just about) fly to a third-world country, have all my dud teeth replaced with nice gold alloy implants, and fly back in time to pig out on a dinner of delicious over-processed and sugary delicacies.

      • -2

For that kind of money I could (just about) fly to a third-world country

If what you claim is true, then post it as a bargain including the name of this so-called third-world country (correct term: "developing nation").
The bargain better have a price tag ~$400.

        • -2

          What's up Doc? Re:

          '(correct term: "developing nation")'

'Correct' according to whom? You? The hairy arm-pitted pinko PC brigade? All nations are 'developing', even those that are going backwards, so that BS PC term is erroneous because it is highly ambiguous. Conversely, everyone knows exactly what 'third-world' is intended to mean. I could have used an even simpler term … like 'sh###y' … but I thought that may offend some peeps. I guess some people are just not happy, unless they're unhappy.

          Peace out

You would have to be mad to buy this. In what way does it improve oral hygiene compared to a $50-100 one? I know that there is a lot of subjective debate on oscillation vs vibration on this website (most of the debate being centred on toothbrushes rather than sex toys) with my personal preference being vibration.

Having had oral B and Philips (including the $300 Diamond Clean twice) toothbrushes for many years, I will never go back to spending that much.

The Oclean X Pro Elite (and its cheaper siblings) is just as good, and in some areas better.

    • +1

Gotta clean that Kool-Aid off your teeth somehow.

    • +2

I've had the Oclean X Pro Elite for a few months now and would not look back, for $100 with a heap of heads its great value.

      • Where you get oclean pro elite for $100 with extra heads?

Rather interested as all the ones I've seen are $150

    • Agreed. i have had the Oclean Pro X Elite and for $100 its a steal. Why pay for this OralB that doesn't even have a touch screen? that's nearly 4x the price.

and if you don't want the gimmicks, then get the Oral B 2000. have had one for years, battery hasn't decayed, does the best job at the cheapest price. no fancy bells or whistles, but dependable.

  • +2

Unbelievable price for a brush! OMG.

I thought $25 was too much. I recently replaced the Ni-Cd battery on my Oral B from 2017.

  • If you go to Japan one day, pick up a Panasonic Doltz electric toothbrush. They cost AU $25. Or you might be able to get an imported one for under $50. Replacement heads are very cheap. They vibrate extremely fast, which means you don’t have to apply any pressure at all. Being smaller makes them easier to get inside your mouth. They use a single AAA battery, which lasts about 2 months. I’ve been using one for the past 5-6 years, and every time I go to the dentist, he says my teeth are so good nowadays.

  • the $20 Oral B electric toothbrush does the job for me!
