Reliable Platform for Trading US Stocks with Long Hold

Hi, I have never traded US stocks and looking to see what people use.

I am planning to invest mid-6 figures and on a long hold.
Platforms like Stake do not appear reliable, but reliable platforms like Fidelity are not offered here.

What platform do you use, if you trade US stocks?

Plenty of options: Selfwealth, IBKR, CMC Markets, Commsec, NABTrade

  • Can you not use something like Vanguard then select a fund that deals exclusively or in majority of US stock?

Hodling the stonks directly is always more profitable than ETF in the long term.

SelfWealth. $9.50 per trade is the best deal I have seen out there.

its 2021 ATM not 2018, soon to be 2022 with time everything changes

  • With what happened with GME, I heard IBKR and Fidelity are good options. I feel more confident as I know my own broker won't trade/vote on my behalf.

A lot of US brokers here use custodians where the custodians pretty much say the US Shares are an IOU, vote on your behalf, refuse to transfer your shares to other brokers, and refuse to give you a paper certificate or charge almost a thousand just so you can get proof you actually own AND hold shares. Read the custodian contract for yourself.

    • Fidelity is only for people residing in the US. How is IG?

Personally - for long term, I just use ETF's for US exposure & geared ETF's for extra leverage.
