Using Cashrewards for The Whisky Club new member signup

Hi

Has anyone used cashrewards or shopback to do a new signup to the whisky club?

Cash rewards gives you $17 cashback for new member signup. Just did it it got the cashrewards tracked already!

But I didn't buy anything yet, as you may be aware it's a subscription service and I can opt out of it forever if I wanted to without ever buying a thing

The t&c's don't state anything has to be bought to qualify for the signup it just says new member signup

I wonder if during the pending period of the cashback if I don't end up buying anything for one of the months if it will get declined?

Surely they won't give me $17 just for signing up when there is no guarantee I will spend any money?

Curious if others have also done the cashrewards for signing up and if you got the money back without spending a cent?

If not must be other similar services where there is cashback for signing up where there is no obligation to purchase anything. How do those work?

  If you didn't buy a membership I doubt you'll get anything.

  thanks but you cant actually buy a membership

  The club is a subscription service with no ongoing fees and no obligation to buy. You have to add your credit card at signup and each month unless you opt out you will be charged for that months bottle of whisky

  but for every member signing up it is possible to never spend a cent by always opting out every month so thats why I wonder if I do that will I still get the cashback

  These are the special term and there is mention of purchasing anything:

  Special Terms
  Cashback is eligible for new membership signup only.

  Cashback is eligible only once per member

  Cashback is ineligible for return customers

  Their business model in get many people to join and hopefully a few will buy the whisky or forget to opt out.

    yup I get that part so I am wondering if they are also willing to risk giving every new member $17 cashback when there's no guarantee they will ever buy anything?
