Personally I would go a Dell 27” UltraSharp U2720Q 4K USB-C monitor. It exceeds the budget at $899 but it’s well worth it. You don’t say what size you want?

  • Ultrafine LG.
I'd look for a good second hand one if you're unable to go above $600. You should be able to get the 24" for around that price. And about $1000 for the 27". They're unreal monitors.

  • I’m interested too! With the mini LED display and 120hz it’s going to be tough matching something with it that’s decent and affordable.

  • I'm using the Xiaomi 34 inch ultrawide. It's really good for the price. You can find it for under $600.

Just go for an IPS (120Hz or more) monitor.
Stay away from TN (poor quality) and OLED (burn-in) units.

It's going to be a little while until microLED displays (basically Synthetic-OLED) are mass-produceable and affordable. Apple is leading on that front with billions of dollars invested across the industry to research and produce it. But it still seems to be several years away, with OLED being a good stop-gap until then.

And while miniLED (very different technology) is the next evolution step of IPS Displays, so you would think that is what I would recommend. Fact is, they only hit the market this year with most models being too expensive/poor value. There are cheaper ones coming, but these are untested. And instead, I would recommend you to get a Great Quality IPS Monitor that has been tested, than take the gamble. You can always re-sell a great monitor, but you will have great difficulty with one that has issues or questionable quality.
