Nas Home Server

Hi, current setup I use is a Terramaster f2-210 as file storage and media server via Kodi.
I wanted to add home server utilities such as Nextcloud and Home Assistant and maybe camera montiring and pihole etc. The Terramster spazzed out when trying to run anything Docker related so obviously will not work.

What is the best bang for buck option for me. Would a Synology Nas do the trick for all this or would I be better with a Nuc as the low power server and keeping the old Nas for files?

Thanks

Synology just remember the less $ you spend the slower the CPU, less ram = less function, I have 4 synology nas,s but all high end.. but I'm glad I spent big on my 1st one ..

  • Have a dedicated NAS and virtualisation server is usually best practice and is what I'd personally opt for.
