Casio 37mm DBC32 Watch $41.99 + Shipping ($0 with Club Catch/ Pickup at Kmart and Target) @ Catch

340

Pretty sweet deal on the og smartwatch. Store numbers and make calculations with the good old casio dbc-32.

I believe this is cheaper than the times I've seen it at Creationwatch

Honestly my ca-53w gets the most compliments out of my entire collection haha 😂🤣🤣

      • But do they say it like they’re complimenting a child? 😂

thanks tdw and op - i bought both

Steel version isn't actually steel according to Casio - only the bracelet is SS, the case & lens is resin.

        • ive just watched a couple of vids - the black looks way better than the silver - i went to cancel the silver and i see this -

"In line with our Terms and Conditions once an order is placed, we can not cancel, update or amend it. "

amazon way better in that regard…

          • +1

@avtek: You can get them for breach of Fair Trading laws anyway. They've stated this has a SS case & mineral lens but it's actually resin.

@WatchNerd: for sure - listing clearly says

              Case material: Stainless steel
              Band material: Stainless steel

@WatchNerd: thanks watchnerd - am sure ill be able to return it - just a hassle etc - maybe it will look good enough to keep anyway….

                  • +1

@avtek: they will try and give you a store credit to be used in 30 days

                    • @SuperGeek: shocker - thanks for the heads up - catch is owned by westfarmers - biggest retail group in oz btw

          steely…ish

  • Steel or black?

    • why not both?

Got to pace myself for the next watch deal.

  • what is this used for?

    • +9

      calculating bargains.

      • i thought the ozbargain motto was buy first think later

        • +1

true, but with this watch you can:

          • calculate first
          • think now
          • buy later
          • @tdw: wouldn't you lose your ozbargain membership if you do that?

            • +2

@gimli: if you still save money, have you really lost your membership? ;)

  • -1

TBH, this is really ugly watch…
but good to have a calculator on my wrist, so I can bargain at anytime… 1+…1, 2 damn, fat fingers

    • +1

Why do you need a calculator on your wrist ?!

      • For me: The Android calculator gives me wrong answers.

        1 + 2 × 3

        Casio: 7
        Android: 9

So I rather use this bad boy.

        • -1

Android calculator must be using FODMAP

        • +1

my Android phone says 7 lol
get a different calculator app, there's even a TI83 emulator

          • @idonotknowwhy: Are you on Android 12?

            • @deme: Probably. Xperia 1iii fully updated.
I don't check / care about the OS versions anymore.

  • Any similar watch for kids age 10yrs?

    • Catch also have the ca-53w for the same price. I prefer it for the much smaller profile.

  • Resin is likely to break after a few years?

    • +1

Yeah but cheap replacement bands are easy to grab online

  • +3

This was really cool and then they came out with the IR one that would piss the teachers off in class because the TV channels kept changing. Now THAT was cooler! haha

    • +1

Yep that was actually my first casio watch. Man I miss that thing and these days they're worth about $200 secondhand, they're called the cmd-40

      • Holy moly. I’ve had mine sitting in a drawer for 20 years with a dead battery

        Time to cash in!

        • I wore mine to the point the band fell apart and half the buttons stopped working.

    • +2

I always wanted one of those!

  • These things are so painful to use, and even less useful now that we all have phones. I like the nostalgia but I couldn't actually get one

  • this bring back memories, I remember owning a WMP-1 MP3 ( watch/mp3 player) with a whopping 32mb for storage.

  • Back to $59.99
I didn't need this anyway tho lol

    • Updated - the best deals never last long 🤣🤣
