Small Wine Fridge Recommendations

Hi,

In FNQ and we've built a small collection of wine we'd like to keep at a stable, cool temperature.

Only storing red wine, so single zone cooling only.

Only looking at between 30 and 50 bottles of wine needing storage.

We've basically landed on the Hisense 30 bottle, can't justify the Vintec for double the price.

Has anyone else got some real world experience?

I have the Hisense. It's pretty good value for what it does but it got a touch frosty when held at 12 degrees - maybe because it's very full? Don't expect Vintec quality, but if you're just looking to keep things stable in warmer heat it's pretty good!

    • Agree. Decent warranty too.

  • I have a Penfolds one by Vintec, have had it for over 10 years now, paid $300. Around 5 years ago, the relay switch had to be replaced which cost about $150.

    • Same. Except I had the compressor die and they sold a discounted one with greater storage. The latter one has worked great ever since.

  • We got stung by the dreaded Vintec compressor issue.

Now we've got a Lemair wine fridge. I monitor the temperature via a sensor to home assistant now, so I'm not so fussed that our model doesn't have a temperature display. Note that their current models DO have a temp display. Anyway, based on my HA monitoring our unit has been holding a good, constant temperature for the last couple of years.
