  • This is kit lens isn't it for a lot of the Oly models. Steep.

  • Such a thin lens. Kind wish I had one for portabilities sake.

  • Got this as an included kit lens.
Only have this one, have to spend more $$$ in the future for a better useful lens

$150 more and you get 45mm f/1.8 and 40-150mm with this kit (https://cameraclix.com.au/products/olympus-triple-lens-kit). Bought it for $350 earlier this year…still a good deal, good seller too.

    • Damn that's a great little kit

    • That's a great price considering the same company sells the 45mm f/1.8 for $406 on its own right now!

    • It is a great kit I must say, even though I am only interested in the pancake lens as I already have the other two lenses. Is this a reputable seller? Do you happen to know whether they sell Australian stock or is it a front for an overseas operation?

      • Wanna sell me the 45mm? :P I might also be interested in the 40-150

Pretty reputable. Got a tax invoice and they were also selling Sony A7 iii's for $1700 earlier this year so they were part of Sony's cashback promotion as an authorised dealer. Rep was pretty active too. Mine was shipped with quite a generous amount of padding which was much better than my Ted's order which had 4 single air bags protecting a lens. Item was new and the kit is definitely an official product that came nicely packed in an official Olympus black box.

  • teds, what a shyster they are

  • does Pancake means slow AF of this lens?

    • I have owned this lens for around 3yrs now. It's my go to lens, as it is portable and very light.
With AF, yes it does struggle in low light conditions (but you are shooting in Manual mode, you can overcome this to a certain extent),but during day it is as fast as my 12-40mm F2.8 PRO lens.
If you are really after bokeh, then I would not recommend the pancake lens.

      • thanks. I am looking for a street shooting lens so boken is not desired. Previously used canon efm and pentax pancake primes which are slow in AF.

I do a bit of street photography in monochrome mode. The output of this lens in awesome. Ever since I have moved from Canon to Olympus, I have never looked back. I know MFT sensor's have been looked down as they are not Full Frame Sensor, but what people don't get about MFT is their magnification factor(crop factor) of 2X. You don't have to carry around heavy zoom lens.
