Sick of all these 'petrol deals'
The price of petrol just keeps going up, and they justify it with their '8c dockets' and what not.
They can keep their bloody 8c dockets, just put the petrol price back to normal!

    good deal nonetheless!

  • +1

According to Woolworths online 2x15 pk cost $36.80

    • +6

      $1.22 each, now thats a bargain….NOT
Even if you assume average fill at 50L, it's only saving $10 on fuel.
      (equating to 89.3c per can)

      • me thinking the same - we can get coke at about 50 cents a can. If you need to pay more that $12.50 ($7.50 for coke + $5 fuel discount) for the 15 cans of coke - this deal is useless!

    • They are saying $12.24 off for two (confusingly the online prices/discount are different). Thus you get ~$24 for 30 cans, or 80c a can - very different to the ~66c that Coles were doing.

If you assume say 50 litres fill up, then 16c extra discount = $8

Effective Coles price ($20) vs Woolworths price ($24) = $4 diff

So it's still worthwhile, but not great and certainly not if you weren't going to buy coke anyway.

    • I think you missed the point - the deal wasn't on until 23/3, when they also put the coke on special.
Price for 15pk Coca-Cola Cans is now "2 for $22 and get 20c off fuel/1L"

I'd rather spend that money on fuel directly…, and save my teeth ! lol

    • +2

Go the coke zero, thats got the carcenogen sweetener, your teeth will be fine….

      • Aspartame (E951) is an artificial sweetener, responsible for a host of health problems. For those who may be concerned or interested
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvFRLIjOLOU

        • That's not scientifically proven.

However I agree that the use of Aspartame is no 'better' than sugars.

        • Yes,agreed But interesting story about its safety and how it was approved by FDA in the first place…

        • Aspartame is a dipeptide of aspartic acid and phenylalanine, both of which we NEED to live (but only phenylalanine is essential, meaning we can't synthesise it ourselves).
There are some people who can't metabolise excess phenylalanine, and so have to be careful about how much of it they eat, but they can't go without it. That's the reason there are warning labels.

And I mean come on, that video is from Fox News.

  • How do you get 2 x 15 packs for $20??

    • The Woolies sale price of $22 is close enough!

  • Cool almost free coke although it helps that my car has a 150L fuel tank…

    • Yep with a gas and fuel tank to fill saving 20c a litre is a good deal atm with both fuels already 20c higher than it should be.

  • They had an ad during the end of 7 News (in Sydney anyway). The 2x15 pack is selling here for $22, probably higher in SA where they have container deposit.

I didn't notice during the ad (and definitely wasn't in the audio) that it started Friday - I assumed that it started tonight…

    • If it is $22 per 30 375ml cans, then that a great deal with the 20c voucher.

  • Ahh today tonight…where Bullsh*t is born.

Pretty good deal! A true ozbargainer would go halves with their friend, and fuel their cars together to get the most out of their deal!

    • Cant do 2 cars wit 1 voucher

      • i thought you could.

as long as its car after car under the same pump without hanging up the pump.

        its up to 150Litres yea?

        • Even if you hang up you can do two cars, I fill up petrol + LPG all the time
Different pump numbers. all the time..

      • unless you pull up, one behind the other and "share" the bowser.

      • yes you can ,do it all the time last night i used an 9c off filled 2 cars and 2 jerry cans 150 lts

      • +1

According to the voucher is per car only - you can be denied discount otherwise!

      • No true I have filled many a times 2 cars on one voucher

        • you don't have to fill using the same pump. You can even use different pump and just ask to pay together.

    • Ahh today tonight…where Bullsh*t is born.

And the paid infomercial. I'm not sure how they get away with it.

  • rule of thumb, bargain if 55cents a can.
I'm used to be a fans of coke, but not drink for years.

    • Got 24 cans for $15 at Woolworths on Tuesday. Think it was on their catalogue. Forest Lake's catalogue had a further 10% off so I got it for $13.50. Each can $0.5625!

      Gotta lure the diet :)

    • +1

i stock up when they get to 50c per can a couple of times per year…

  • +1

Saw pallets full of 15's tonight at $17+ a pack. Thought what a rip off. Now I know why they had so many at full price !

  • +2

the reason for the discount maybe this

    http://www.theage.com.au/business/coke-loses-its-fizz-in-bat…

    woolies paying CC amatil back?

    • I was just going to quote this…
Very HN like in Sales bullying.

  • So you're paying 72c too much for 30 cans of coke each, whilst paying 20c less for 50L of petrol pL?

That just works out to be JUST paying $11.60 too much for 30x cans of coke.

EDIT: Not even going to factor in the recent fuel prices because I assume you are already complacent with that.

  • We don't buy fuel at supermarket outlets. We've NEVER found it difficult to find a regular servo whose price is at least equivalent to their supposedly discounted price if not better.

  • $22 for two as per the radio add this morning in Melbourne.

  • Paid $1.52 FOR DIESEL yesterday… Ouch $130 to fill my wagon.

    Friggn joke.
    I blame Woolworths/Coles/Government

    • Sure…it has nothing to do with where the oil actually comes from…idiot

  • Did you know COCA COLA is Woolworths highest selling product?

  • bigw used to have coke for an everyday price of like $13 a few years ago 24pk, now its nearly $19..

  • Here's the site for reference: http://www.woolworths.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/website/woolwor…

Love how the actual price isn't mentioned, just how much you 'save'

  • Don't forget that you'll get a 24 cent voucher if you spend $30.00 in store (including this deal).
Did it today… split the shopping into 2 and did it twice.

    • +1

Haha, apparently there are rules for this which staff ignore, I myself included (more so just so you don't get abused by customers).

It's just annoying when someone has a load of $300 and wants to stop 8-9 times…

      • Yeah, definitely annoying in cases like that. In my case, the wife and I split the shopping between us. :-)

      • Easy to split purchase in self check out.

  • 'A new California law that requires cancer warning labels on drinks with certain carcinogen levels is changing the way Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc. make their drinks.

Both companies are now adjusting the recipe for the caramel coloring used in their sodas. The companies have already implemented the changes to the drinks sold in California and plan to expand the changes nationally.'

  • nice deal. i needed some diet coke anyway to take to work. $22 for 2x 15 pack - 0.73c a can…cheaper than $1.50 vending machine at work that only has coke zero (vomit)

  • Just purchased 2x15 cans at Woolies Southern River-WA. My total purchase came just over $71.00 and the fuel rebate states 'save 24c/litre'.

    Either:
Purchase minimum of $30, inc the 2x15 coke@$22, get 4c+20c voucher
Purchases of $30, over and above the coke(at$22), get 24c voucher
Dunno which of the above would apply.

    Either way a great bargain….
    30 coke at $22.00
purchase approx 60 Litres of fuel, save approx $14.00
    = 30 coke for $8.00

    • Yeah, just purchased 2x15 at $22, plus a few other items to get over $30, and got a 24c off voucher - didn't actually know beforehand that the 4c would get added onto the 20c, but had to buy a few other things anyway so it worked out well.

      • Very true DVD guy-I went back for more-purchased just over $34, inc the coke, and whoompa!! 24c fuel voucher. I did read the T&C on the promotion product and this wasn't mentioned. It said 'to receive voucher for 20c, buy 2x15'. Possibly a 'glitch' in their system but easily milked by us on OzB

        • Don't forget to also spend $5 at the servo, and receive ANOTHER 4c off. I amassed it to 0.28c off p/l. $14.95 + $2.86 saving on over 60L of gas…
          Sweet deal…

  • how much the 2 X24 cans cost b4

sadly i got a 45L tank so maybe not for me
