    Tried to use a coupon the other day. Ordered dinner for Diwali mid-afternoon for delivery in the evening. Got a notice at 5:15 that the restaurant did not accept the order, leaving us high and dry. No reason given. Menulog should handle such situations better.

      The notice you received is likely automated. I'm going to guess the process is that the restaurant has a time limit to accept the order, and when the restaurant doesn't accept within that time limit then Menulog's system automatically cancels the order and refunds.

      Think for situations like this when the restaurant is taking too long to accept the order or never accepted the order, you're more likely to get the answer from contacting the restaurant directly then to ask Menulog themselves as they wouldn't know why. Like was the reason because the restaurant wasn't open, or were they too busy to accept the order, or did they not want to accept the order because there was a coupon involved. Just my two cents.

        I don't think it timed out. It got cancelled around 1.5hr after I put in the order, not at a fixed round number. And it was communicated that the restaurant would only open at 5pm.

        I believe you are right about them refusing to accept the order because of the coupon. But that's lousy, and Menulog should be following up to ask what happened. Right now, I'm not even able to leave a review for that restaurant to warn others.
