Unrealistic rrp for a lot of models

    • yeah for 350 its way too much but 170 its reasonable and my philips just died today :(

      • How do you find the Philips compare to the Oral-B?

        • After using the oral b IO7 a few times, (not the posted deal, IO series is the latest and greatest). I think I'm used to the sonicare more as I think that feels better so I'm still getting used to the oralb as its just different. II'm switching from from current high end model of the sonicare.

However in terms of build quality, the IO feels better, the head is bigger than the sonicare and previous oralb model. The lights which tell you if your pressure is good is great, it tells you how long you been brushing which is handy and the magnetic base is a nice touch.

Overall..Currently in happy with the purchase and would recommend.

  • I am using the basic Oral B electric toothbrush. Does this version give much more advantage than the basic version?

    • im not sure but this seems to more powerful and has more cleaning modes, fancy lights and useless bluetooth.

My basic version costs me $22 and I really like it.

I have the basic one (700) as well as the 2000 and 8000 ones.

The 2000 and 8000 are miles better, build quality, different modes, longer charge, light, sensitivity sensor, travel charging case depending on model, different speeds. The bluetooth thing is a gimmick.

Definitely recommend an upgrade if within your budget.

@cute as duck: I did up a comparison of the models in another deal; I found the 1500 is the minimum model to go for because of the speeds and lithium battery which should last quite a while (vs NiMh of the cheaper models). Very hard to find the info + may differ in each market but looks reasonably correct for Aus:

The 1500+ models all use the same heads and chargers

1500+ models all have the same speed (9,900 oscillations or 45k pulsations) but have different packages and speed modes (eg tongue cleaning is just a slower speed), bluetooth if that matters
7000 - 9000 models slightly higher max speed (10,500 oscillations or 48.8k pulsations) and again packaged items (such as the charging travel case) and speed modes
Genius X same speed as the 7000-9000 but has a motion sensor for tracking parts of your mouth (8/9000 uses your phone camera and I find mine highly inaccurate)

Also be aware Oral B recently released their iO range which is quieter and uses different heads and chargers

Basically pick the cheapest out of those groups based on the speed you want, be aware that 50% off that inflated RRP is normal and don't forget to stack with shavershop $10 off new customers and cashrewards

  • Same price at shavershop.
    https://www.shavershop.com.au/oral-b/genius-9000-electric-to…

Either brand-wide sale or just a hugely inflated RRP. probably a combination of both

    • black not available on amazon … so this would be the go if u want black, i actually wanted black LOL.. oh well.

    • Also additional 25% off, up to $50 if you pay with Klarna by 14th November.

actually this is a much better deal than amazon…

i ended up cancelling my amazon order and using shaver shop and got an IO7 instead.

        221 - 50 - 7 (cashrewards) = 164

        • I think io series use different toothbrush heads which is not interchangable with the common ones you can get everywhere. I'm not sure it worths the extra premium with minimal extra features.

Also, $50 is maximum discount amount, you don't need to spend $200.

Klarna simply pays/waives your 4th instalement or deducted $50 from it, whichever amount is lower.

  • A little off topic, but I bought my mum and dad a Oral-B Genius 8000 2 handle pack for Christmas (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161367029593), and I found out it only comes with a single charger (which also acts as a stand), single travel case, and single brush head storage unit. Does anyone know where I can find genuine/good quality chargers/travel case/brush head storage units? I've looked around and it's difficult to find parts that are both not stupidly expensive, and don't look sketchy.

I noticed Oral-B sell the brush head storage unit on their amazon page (https://www.amazon.com.au/Oral-Brush-Head-Storage-Cover/dp/B…), but is costs $42.17 which is absurd for what is a small bit of plastic.

    • Don't know why the msg isn't going through but check Oral-B Pro 700 on Amazon for $49 as it comes with charger and case or the Oral-B Pro 100 for $35 that also comes with a case and charger. Maybe a Mod can fix the spam link issue as that's new to me.

      • that's not actually a bad idea, thanks.
