    • Thanks updated

  • will we get $10 credit or NOT?

Expand the section called "Club Terms and Conditions", there will no longer be a signup bonus.

      • -1

why we wasting time to signup if NO signup bonus

        • they give club plus members $10 credits a few times a year.

          • +1

            @tdw:

            a few times a year.

You're getting a lot more credits than I am, what's the secret?

I receive maybe one credit per year, but I only show at supercheap maybe two or three times a year.

There's a hidden benefit to club membership: When you see a deal pre-announced, you can go and buy the item at full price BEFORE the sale has started. Then you'll get credit back to the value of the price drop. The only catch with this system is that you only have about a month to use the credit. So buy something consumable that you know you'll use, like car wash detergent, garden gloves, or maybe oil for your car/motorbike/chainsaw.

Other suggestions for low-price consumables welcomed.

            • @Russ: i don't know if there's any secret..?

aside from signing up for their spam — which can sometimes be useful when they announce store re-openings for free food — to get notified when credits drop, i don't spend much with SCA either, just when they chuck me some credits or i need some car stuff or tools in a pinch. i personally don't find their credit back feature to be all that useful, (you know, from not buying from them a lot); means i'll have to make another trip to the store and hope that something i want is on special that week.

you could get multiple accounts to get more credits, but you probably already know those credits are tied to those specific accounts. i've also noticed if one account gets credits, the others will also get it at the same time.

so it's a free signup now with no credit? are we going to post every other retailers free membership signup too?

    • +8

Yup so basically it's a $5 net devaluation of the membership lol

      • +3

Yup, another post that is not a "deal"

        • -1

          Common practice lately on ozb

  • +1

It wasn't $5 then, this is misleading. It was $5 with $10 credits. Now it is FREE because well… no credits.

  • +3

This is not a deal if the sign up is free. Most retailers offer a free sign up…

  • +8

    No free credit no deal

    • +3

But maybe you reach Platinum or Diamond status?

      • +8

Yeh with free entry to the Supercheap lounge

        • ROFL!

  • +2

Why would anybody pay for this. Its like paying for flybuys lol.

    • I actually like their membership scheme. If you buy something and that product goes down in price within the next 2 weeks they credit the difference back to your account.

If they announce a big sale (ie. Black Friday) you don't have to wait until Black Friday. You can just buy what you want 2 weeks earlier and you'll get the sale difference added to your account on Black Friday.

If there is no credit, how is it a deal?

  • -1

Still no option to delete an account, even though their T&C s say only 1 account per person, and to contact SCA to delete account if having multiple.

But in reality no option to delete accounts

  • Thanks OP, I've been waiting for this to be free again.

As opposed to paying $5 and getting $10 to spend?

      O.K.

      • I guess if you are flat broke and can't find $5 to join, then this might be a deal. But still what's the point in joining if you are so broke that you cant afford $5, maybe just to have a free membership card lol.

Otherwise for everyone else, it's not.

  • As others have said, used to be 5$ sign up with 10$ credit, now no credit.

  • No point, no deal.

    What's the bargain/deal?

It's free to join ozbargain too. Haven't seen that posted as a deal yet.

  • This is nowhere near a deal. It's parallel to free sign up to a newsletter. Spam even.

  • I've joined the club but bot applying club prices…
