Using TG789VacV2 in Bridge Mode with Asus RT-AX88U

Hi all,

I had a FTTP NBN previously and was happily using the Asus RT-AX88U router. Now that I have moved home and is on a FTTN (100Mbps). I require a modem to connect the Asus router. I had an IINET TG789VacV2 Modem/router lying around and thought I use that in Bridge mode. I have successfully established a connection, however, it drops out intermittently. Are there any settings I have to adjust to troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance.

  • No idea from your text which of the two router/modem drops out intermittently. Which internet provider you with? Have you reconfigure the iiNet modem settings? Update the DNS servers?

I had my Asus connected directly to FTTP connection and had issues with some internet provider (superloop was first). The WAN DHCP setting helped.

    • Hi @NeutralName

The connection is established using, TG789 Vac in bridge mode( as a modem) and the Asus Router RT AX88U( as router) is connected to the TG789.
I am able to connect to the Asus wifi and the able to access the internet. However the internet connection drops out intermittently.. :(

I have no idea what settings I need to alter in my IINET modem settings/Update DNS. Any idea? thanks
