Inkbird Rechargeable Digital Bluetooth Meat Thermometer IBT-6XS (4 Probe) + 2x Fast Read BG-HH1D $57.99 Delivered @ Inkbird eBay

100

Seems like a great price compared to previous deals. Not sure if its a mis-pricing or if I'm missing something (?). Bought one as have been looking to pull the trigger on a bbq probe thermometer for a week or two. I don't think I'll need more than 2 probes at a time (ambient and 1 pc meat on bbq) so I reckon I have 2 spares and am happy not to get the 6-probe version. This seems to be the same price as the 4-probe on its own, so it seems like you're getting the fast read thermometers for free (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/323850539149). The same seller has the 6-probe version for $77.99(https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223352003883) without the fast read pens. It does look like the 6-probe version has been $55 before (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/641053). It looks like a pair of the pens were considered a deal at $22.94 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/592225).

This is a $12 price increase compare to an hour ago.

    Price increases are not bargains.

    • That's because this was further discounted by the singles day promo code which expired at midnight 14 November. It definitely is a deal compared to the pricing and previous deals quoted.

  • Cheers OP, it's still cheap at this price.

  • Difference between ibbq &ibt?

    • ibbq is more expensive and is wifi while this is Bluetooth. See below.

      • Looks like the only major difference is

        1. WiFi vs Bluetooth
        2. IBT - Any connectivity issues will cause data to be lost forever, and there is no way to download and store recorded data. If you’d like a permanent record of a particular cook, you’ll need to take a screenshot.

iBBQ - The device easily recorded temperature data to the cloud while the phone was disconnected and the graph of the data was available on reconnection. The graphed data could be exported in CSV format and manipulated in a spreadsheet program.

Might actually just get this since it fits in my use case. Mainly casual bbq

        • Nice article. Thanks for linking. I wonder why they can't just build the same app functionality for the Bluetooth version. Maybe they will at some point. It seems a bit contradictory about saving the data on the WiFi unit - on the plus side it says temperature data can be exported to CSV, on the neg side it says data from the cook cannot be saved. This is cheap enough to try out and then upgrade to a more expensive / wifi unit if it seems worth it - and could probably sell this one on Gumtree. Note that the instant read thermometer they review is the IHT-1P, which is a different model from the ones in this deal.

          • @belbo: The same seller is selling the BG-HH1D instant read thermometers for $19.99 each (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324386156638), which are the ones pictured in this deal. The description on this deal says that the thermometers are foldable, which I think is an error. That would presumably be the IHT-1 , which is also rechargeable and is selling for $33 each (same eBay link).

          • @belbo: One thing to watch for is that the data can only be exported until you turn the unit off. Then, inexplicably, it's wiped from cloud.

  • Getting a Webber Kettle for xmas so this will come in very handy! Cheers!!

Yeah. I just got one a couple of weeks ago. Have done a snake method "low and slow" 8 hour 2.2kg brisket just using the lid thermometer - and it turned out great, although it could have been a bit pinker. It seems the 1.5 hr per pound rule around 225 - 250 F is a pretty good rule of thumb . Have bought this to fine tune better for future cooks and especially for chicken - although could just lift the lid and use my analogue meat thermometer to test if for readiness. Just spoke to a mate who has a Meater thermometer - also bluetooth - and he just uses an old phone and keeps it near the bbq - which is also a good idea.

      • Cheers for the tips!

This or the WiFi version IBBQ-4T

    • That looks like a nice unit and is also waterproof, which this isnt, but it looks like it is only available around $120 - $140 and was considered an Ozbargain deal at $99 - so isn't really a substitute for this deal in terms of price. Interested to hear what you decide though.

  • Thanks OP…Bit the bullet and bought it. Kinda wish I got it when it was $45, but oh well.

    • Yeah. I only saw that deal an hour before it expired. Sometimes you just get lucky. Still a great price.

  • The deal has expired. Is now $69.99. Still seems to be not a bad price. IBT-6XS with 6 probes is $91.99 on Amazon with no instead read pens. Very good reviews btw - 4.5/5 from 2.3k reviews.

  • Just got tracking number and confirmation it has been posted.

  • Ordered just before midnight (with the singles day promo code in the other deal) and delivered today. Looks great.
