Put the price in the title????? Clickbait as hell. 170 off what?

    • the price is in the title sorry.

      • +6

From 629 sounds like you're selling a range of desks in the same title and the original price of the desks starts from 629 😛

      • +1

Not having 2 bold headers will make it appear less click-baity.
But definitely still an ad and nothing else.

        • +1

Actually this is the exact same deal as posted 3 months ago. So it's not a "deal" so much as "we want to sell at $629 but the regular price is higher so it looks like a deal"

  • +11

code does not stack with "email subscription" 100$ off code. Sale ends Midnight Cyber Monday so get in while stocks last!

So really, it's $70 off then.

    • Hi Ol Mate, That's correct they can't be used in conjunction with each other, although with the discount price is very competitive against similar products competitors offer.

  • +29

Ozbargain needs to do a big clean-up… people are starting to do their advertisements here rather than deals. You can surely find better Stand Desks cheaper than that price. lol

    • +4

But.. this is a gaming desk with cable management..

      • +4

        why are people negging sarcasm

    • +4

link one up then, thats the whole point of this place.

      • Here's a link for a gaming desk:

        https://desky.com.au/products/alpha-dual-sit-stand-gaming-de…

        If you compare specifications online you'll see what separates different gaming desks, things to take in to consideration;

        • Height range (Anything over 70cm for sitting height will be found to hight for anyone under 170cm)
        • Weight Capacity
        • Warranty
        • Features / Technology
        • Shipping fees

The above link is definitely the most competitive price I've seen for a dual motor desk, this price also includes a cable management channel.
This model is also compatible with DUAL170

  • Anyone know what motors these desks use?

    • +1

      Hi Krim,
Unfortunately we won't disclose any information of our manufacturing rest assured these are the best on the market, the stability and reliability are perfect, we take pride knowing they will last 10 years, the dual motors are actually tested and proven to last 10,000 up and downs, which means in 10 years you need to put the desk up and down 27 times a day for 10 years to meet how many times It's designed to last. (Overall meaning it should last longer than the warranty period)

      • +1

That math is way off dude.

        27 times a day X 365 days is 9855 in a single year.

You only get ~2.7 a day for 10,000 over 10 years.

That's way lower than I use my sit-stand at work (at least 4-5 cycles a day).

        • Hi Telios,
Apologies you would be correct if I didn't make a Typo, it was mean't to be 100,000.
          My bad.

  • +7

Terrible customer service. The Richard guy on their live chat support talks to you so casually like your his mate instead of trying to proactively finding a solution for you. As a customer service rep, he really needs to learn some internet chat etiquette or at least be provided some training. I avoided them after my interaction with Richard.

    • +1

Exactly, asked the difference between ZenSpaceDesk and Desky and got a response along the lines of "They are very similar, basically the same manufacturer". Wtf kind of sales is that?

      • +2

Imagine being honest to a customer after having to lie the entire day to sell overpriced crap only for that person to complain about you.

        • name checks out

    • -4

appreciate the feedback here, ill be sure to pass this onto our ops manager.

      • +5

Hi Brett, hope you're not too harsh on Richard. Poor old Richard probably just had a long day dealing with a big influx of people going onto the site.

Trying to inject some positivity into this thread! Whether the deal is good or not I can't comment on, but I hope people can be more understanding!

        • I had a similar experience a couple of months back. After a couple of hours trying to get some basic info I gave up and called. Lucky I didn't speak to the same person I was dealing with on the chat function and managed to get the support I was after. The chat was so bad I kept the chat to show to others as I couldn't believe how bad it was. All I can say is, if your job is to chat with customers via messages you should make sure you read the messages before responding.

          • @McGeeski: Hi McGeeski, We do really appreciate the feedback and our ops manager is making changes to ensure customer experience is back to being great.

$170 for a sit stand cheap… op how do i order some?

  • +3

    • -3

$170 off is the best discount we've offered which equals our EOFY sale.

  • I remember checking the price for Deskys Dual Melamine sit stand desk 1800x750mm last week and the price was $929 and now it is $979…

      JESUS, thanks for the link!!

We had some issues with couriers during the Sydney lockdowns with parcels getting stuck in depots and delayed. We've since resolved this and have new courier partners delivering for us which is working much more efficiently, which is evident in our recent google reviews id say moreso than that particular site.

      • +1

Hey Brett, I'm thinking of pulling the plug, but just wondering what delivery provider you use for Melbourne Metro? I ask because we've historically had a terrible time with Fastway/Amarex, and Auspost are also completely slammed down here at the moment (Melb -> Melb express shipping can take weeks!). Thanks!

        • Pulling the trigger, not plug! 🤦‍♂️

    • +4

Yeah, the huge amount of 5 star reviews all posted 5 hours ago totally doesn't look suss..

      Lol

      • +1

Holy jeepers went from 2.2 stars to 3.1 that is dedication… worried now

        • An email out was sent to our 5 star reviewers, they were happy to put additional reviews up on product review, They are all real customers that shopped with Desky before and after the lockdowns. Majority of the bad reviews are based on Aramex, we no longer use them and it's a reflection of the business at the time, we have ensured the delivery times are back to what's reflected on the website.

  • +1

Doesn’t seem like a good deal if shipping is $40! Realistically, it’s $130 off on already large prices compared to what you can get from Officeworks

    • Our delivery charge is the same as Officeworks, We do have a showroom, but only Brisbane at this stage. Plus the product offerings with the wood desktops are a bit more unique than what you would find there too. Our frame also has a larger adjustable range, meaning it is suited to more users. Can check out our ergonomic calculator to get an idea on what heights your desk/chair/screens should be for the optimium setup for your height: https://desky.com.au/pages/desk-height-calculator

  • Bought a Desky (Melamine custom size) before the delivery troubles (Jul-Aug timeframe) so I can't really comment on deliverability / timelines like the ones on there now.

Aramex were the delivery company when I got my desk, so naturally the boxes were in pretty bad shape, with the corners of one side of my desk top mangled. Called the desky team and got a replacement desk top ordered in the same call, just had to send some pics through. Took about ~5 weeks to get the desk top replacement (again, custom size) so it was pretty reasonable.

    • Glad the team were able to get that sorted for you, and yes the custom tops do take a bit of time to come through from production (current turnaround time is 3-4 weeks). The melamine tops are manufactured locally just across the road from us. Thanks for your support!

removed my effing comment coz I said this is false advertising. FML

  • +1

Had a Desky arrive last week, to be more specific, it didn't arrive last week at our home. Aramex delivered all three packages to the wrong address. I point out that all three were delivered to the wrong address because they were all delivered on different days when I'm sure they were all sent at the same time. I was only made aware each of these packages were delivered from a confirmation email. Aramex customer support were absolutely useless, they took over an hour to answer via they online chat function and over half an hour to respond to each of the following message. My street name is the only one in Australia so very hard to mess up and we've never had this problem before, yet somehow Aramex did. After 2 and a half hours trying to communicate via the online chat I gave up and did my on research to figure out were they may have sent the packages. I drove over to an address in I different suburb and luckily the house had my first package. Aramex were absolutely useless 2 hours after I had figured out were the package was delivered I record a image stating the package was delivered and an image of the package at a home that was not mine. Even though I spend hours trying to explain the situation they still delivered the following items to the same (wrong) address.

While I love the desk and would recommend desky products I have a really big BUT, I got really lucky in figuring out were our packages were delivered and I would be hesitant to purchase or recommend purchasing from Desky as long as the are using Aramex shipping services. You may not be as lucky as I was. While mistakes happen in life, the sign of a good company is how they respond to these mistakes. Aramex fails in these regards and If you don't believe me, just check out there very bad reviews on multiple sites online.

    • I avoid any company that uses Aramex, they are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to logistics. It just shows you how much Desky cares about their end-to-end customer experience by pairing with a company as bad as Aramex.

      • We no longer use Aramex for deliveries but unfortunately any product we previously sent would unfortunately still be navigating through their network, our logistics team have been able to develop new partnerships with TNT, Border Express and Bonds Express. And for anyone who doesn't know the severity of couriers in AUS we were denied by over 40 couriers before the above would take us on, they simply said "We can't take you on right now as our network would end up the same as Aramex". Although as a business we care about our customers and have put in all the processes and necessary changes to ensure we meet the advertised dispatch and shipping times on our site.

    • Hi McGeeski,
We are truely sorry to learn of this, the last thing we want to do is leave you with a bad taste over Desky.. Please shoot an email to [email protected] - Theo is one of our awesome customer support guys and would really appreciate the opportunity to help end this on a positive note.

      Thank you.

      • Thanks for responding to my post. My post was mainly to inform people about my experience with Aramex. I see from your post above you have moved away from using there services. Good job listening to your customer feedback. It's all good, we have the Desky and are very happy with it. I will be recommending your products moving forward.

  • +1

    Avoid avoid avoid.
Read the 1 star reviews on product review and Google. You'll see what they have in common.

Plus the desks are the same as Zendesk, omnidesk, probably others. You're literally just choosing a seller who slaps their brand on it then ships to you. The last bit is the part desky can't do and lies about when you try and contact them.

    • +1

Yep seems like they inflated the rating from 2.2 stars to 3.1 in the matter of hours just then

      • +1

After my very negative experience with them, I looked over the 5 star reviews more closely and they definitely don't look genuine… why can't they just be honest.

  • I bought a Desky desk a month ago. I found the provided tracking through Machship and a transport company to be lacking. There was a slight delay with shipping. Desky, through live chat and email, was decent in following up and the item was later delivered without issues.

I've been using the desk for a week now and am happy with it. The desk is definitely a step up from the stand desks i've used in offices.

  • +2

what a bargain it is. buy a ebay frame + a bunnings panel, at most 500 bucks

    • Hey Newcools, Thanks for your suggestion, if you compare the specifications on different models you'll find what separates different price brackets. Although our models are compatible with all users versus the cheaper models which are found to not support much weight, found to be too high for sitting height & warranty is max 3 years. We have a 10 year warranty, dual models support 140kg, height range of 60-125cm (Suits all users) and is future proof for any desktop up to 2.2metres.

  • Comparison to Omnidesk etc?? (even IKEA)

    • Similar products to OMNI although a wider range of finishes / options, with the black Friday discount we win on price point.

Same as above for Ikea the way to distinguish the price point is to compare the specifications to what you have included.

      The Desky Dual Motor systems also have the following features;

      • Child Lock
      • Anti Collision
      • 4 Pre-set Height options
      • USB on hand controller
  • +1

Pretty minuscule savings for a supposed Black Friday deal.
Whatever happened to the other items that were meant to be for sale on the blog post?
    https://desky.com.au/blogs/news/desky-black-friday-sales

Maybe would be worthwhile if accessories and cable management bars were discounted/ included but at this price there is way better value out there.

  • +1

So for all the shitting on Desky in this thread, I bought one mid pandemic and fairly happy with the purchase all things considered.

    Delivery
    - Yes I had delays with shipping (weeks turned into months) and poor responses initially but they came good eventually.
    - Aramex delivered the desk, and the delivery guy was actually pretty nice with the delivery.

    The desk
    - Putting it together was straightforward.
    - Quality is much better than an office works desk I found.
    - Warranty on the motors gives me piece of mind.
    - The table top has a nice finish, prefer the wood look vs black plastic.
    - It was scratched on top but I'm using a desk mat to cover it.

    This thread

I have to say Brett S has responded to most people with dignity and professionalism. Explained the issues the business has had and what they have done to fix it.

I'm not sure what else you're expecting them to do? If you have a problem with your order, contact them directly to try and work it out. Don't like the price, shop somewhere else. 🤷‍♂️

  • Comparison to these?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/203207657851
    https://www.amazon.com.au/AIMEZO-Electric-Motorised-Adjustab…

They all look pretty similar but a Desky frame is double the price

    • This has caught my eye.. not sure 120kg will be enough for me though

  • Hey BrettS,
Could you please advise when you expect the remaining items as part of the Black Friday Deal, as per this post on your website states?
    https://desky.com.au/blogs/news/desky-black-friday-sales

I see the 170$ off the desk part of the deal but all the other accessories remain at full price. I would likely be more willing to purchase if the remaining items were put on sale as mentioned on the post as I am in the market for the cable management channel and monitor arms.

Ive tried going through the website support but the response was not particularly helpful and no one knows anything about it.
