Best Robovac under 1k with

Hi looking a really good robovac under $1k with Lidar, predominantly for wooden floor use and one carpeted bedroom ,we've a dog also that casts a medium amount of hair I'd say also.

So many brands , hard to separate them and have never bought one of these vacs before.
Many thanks

The best is the Roborock S7; which is over the $1K mark. Second to that is the Roborock S5 Max. That is very very similar to the S7; the key difference being the mopping component that the S7 can better handle change from wooden floorboards to carpet. Have a look at youtube for comparison videos.

    • I was able to get my S7 from Aliexpress a few weeks ago, during a sale, for $840 AUD (after tax + delivery in 5 days via DHL).

Overall, very happy with the purchase, even though we have to clean our the dust compartment multiple times during a full home vacuum (we have 2 cats!).

Hoping to find a good deal on the auto empty dock soon!

      • Which seller did you buy from? I was tossing up buying from aliexpress but couldnt find any with a decent amount of reviews

The S5 Max is probably better for overall carpet and floor vacuuming.

My S7 embarrassingly does a worse job cleaning carpets than my old Gen 2 Xiaomi Roborock (S50). I'm wondering if it's the rubber brush??

The S7 though is awesome if you want to use the mop functions, does a great job avoiding the carpets

  • Roborock,
    Although Viomi S9
and the new Roidmi Eve would both be viable contenders with auto empty docks.

Viomi S9 without a doubt - includes the disposal bin. Great bit of gear which does a great job.
App could be a bit better, but not complaining.

    • much cheaper and UV, some of the reviews say it's a little dodgy, but maybe worth the risk at this price point (if it saves me cleaning floors)

  • Seen an offer for the Dreame 10l pro around $650 ,sounds pretty good also?

  • If you can stretch to $1100 you can get the Ecovac T9+ with discounts or via Commercial Good Guys.

    • Cheers, for the reply, was hoping to keep the price low as possible,$1000 absolute max .would there be much difference in performance in that one and something 300/400cheaper?

  • Bought the eufy 11s $200 job ,just to try ,goes like a little work horse bouncing of things pretty gently and a bit chaotic but seems to do a good job vacuuming, bit annoying there's no beep or something to tell you when it's full tho,
I guess this is where the auto bin comes into play and the radar ain't as good or as slick forsures looking at the t9 video ,but 5x the price it would need to be pretty decent.
Definitely leaning towards something that has an auto bin and maybe the mapping would be handy too.
the viomi S9 or the Dreame l10 looks somewhere in the middle ,any thoughts

  • Not sure but I remember the early xiaomi going for $300 years ago what's the story with that.. Are they still good or has robot vacuum market improved so much for the better

I'm in the market for a cheap sub $300 or near one.

Auto empty would be nice but I'm just happy with cliff detection and floor mapping for now I can manually empty no problem.

Don't want to spend too much.

  • I have this one. Got it specifically because it doesn't have that top LiDAR bump

    No auto empty station, though.
