I like Grant Burge Pinot Noir Chardonnay if you’re after a sparkling wine. If you’re paying more than $20, you’re paying too much

Exactly, particularly if OP has limited knowledge of wine, and most likely zero knowledge of the client's wine preferences.
And if the wine is for client gifts, the label name and design is probably just as important as the contents.
