Stumbled upon this on Amazon, good deal for an amazing game.

Worth noting that it will be on sale in a couple of days on the eShop, but unsure for how much, though I suspect the usual 33% discount/$53.30 price for Nintendo games.

As per fab boy in the comments, seems to be matching EB's price https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/nintendo-switch/252837-xe…

The $36 at Catch deal was the best to date.

Why is this game still available but Xenoblade Chronicles 2 so hard to find for a decent price?

    • Probably cause it's out of production at this point.

      • Will it come back, or is the copies out there the only ones?

        • Who knows? I'm not even sure if it's actually out of print, but the prices suggest so.

Aren't we due for a Nintendo Selects reprint of games by now? Feel like the last generations had them by now.

          Ahh I'm a selects snob

Partly because XC2 came out first (on Switch). It was basically a launch title, whereas this is more recent (but still older now)

  • is there a big difference between this and XC2? I haven't played XC2. I just asked my friend to loan me the XC2 to trial play before buying one.

    • What do you mean by big difference?

they have their own story line and the mechanics of the gameplay is changed too.

You dont really need to play one to understand the other.

    • They're relatively different, battle system is different between the two but they share some similarities. Different cast of characters/new world etc.

thank y'all. So i can play either. :) I am waiting for black Friday sale. But i reckon this is also a good price.

      • I started playing the XC2. The game is a bit slow at the beginning but I totally love the storyline. The whole combat system is a bit complicated but I am getting the hang of it. So now, I wonder if the DE is nice to have and play it down the track? This is a good price. Well, haven't seen any other better Black Friday sale for it. Maybe i should bet on the lightning deal like last year. Decision…..

  • I got this on 3ds a while back but haven't played it yet, anyone know if there's much difference apart from resolution?

    • +1

Yeah, music is remastered, character models are re-done and look amazing, plus some small QoL improvements and an extra story/mini sequel included.

I'd say it's well worth it, 3DS is still fine but this is a much better way to experience this game. Didn't neg you btw.

  • If anyone is still subscribed. This looks to be back in stock, sold by Amazon AU.
