USB C Hub, HARIBOL USB Hub with HDMI 4K@60Hz, 8 in 1 USB C Adapter with PD 87W, RJ45 Ethernet, USB Ports, PD Charging, SD/TF Card Reader for MacBook/Pro/Air (Thunderbolt 3) and Type C Windows Laptop

^ said it before and will say again, this is the best value 4K@60Hz USB-C hub I've found which works with power delivery, and works on both my Lenovo X1 and M1 Macbook. Only downside is that 100Mbps ethernet port (rather than gigabit). Been using for half a year and no issues. Would also have been nice to have a detachable USB C cable but that would be pushing into hub/docking station pricing territory.

    • This one has gigabit ethernet:

HARIBOL USB C Hub, MacBook Pro Adapter USB C Dongle, 6 in 1 USB C to HDMI Multiport Adapter with 1000M Ethernet, 4K@30HZ USB C to HDMI, 3 USB 3.0 Ports, PD Charging Port for MacBook/Pro and Type C Devices

Do you know if this one is any good?

Don't know, I bought the one I did because it supported 4K@60Hz and had USB PD (i.e. one cable to charge, connect to KBM) and it worked on both Apple and Windows devices. If you don't care for 4K@60Hz (or any of the other resolutions/refresh rates above 1080p60 which require the DP over USB-C eg. 3840x1080, 1440p, etc) then there's plenty of options for USB-C hubs such as the UGreen ones (which is what I used before I bought the Haribol one).

        • Thanks for the info. I didn't notice the 4K@60Hz spec. Cheers.

  • These are on sale now often than they're not. They don't work with Chromecast, numerous issues in reviews. Unless you're strapped for cash, I don't see why you would purchase this.

    • which one?

Did you reach out to the manufacturer/seller to get a refund or explanation why it didn't work with Chromecast?

That being said, I did see that halfway down the description of the hub it states:

          Warm Tips:
          1. We suggest just one HDD/SSD is connected at a time due to power output limitations of some laptops.
          2. The USB Hub is not compatible with Google Chromecast TV.

          • @jace88: I haven't purchased it for the same reasons I have downvoted this:

            1) Low quality product (based on reviews)
            2) Frequency of posts for the USB-C hubs tag
            3) Minimal discount
            4) Lack of compatibility
            5) The minimal difference in price between this and something better rated, more compatible and more reputable

If it works for you, that's great. I upvoted your post as first hand accounts are useful.

@ihfree: Thanks for the upvote. I didn't find any quality issues with my HARIBOL but it's probably not as pretty as say the UGreen ones which are generally quite highly regarded.

That being said, the $31 model I bought above is unique in that there aren't any other hubs in the <$50 range which genuinely support 4K@60Hz and USB-C PD on both Apple and Lenovo laptops. Unfortunately there's also a few USB-C hubs out there which do advertise 4K@60Hz but then fail to deliver fro whatever reason (and often you need to delve through detailed reviews/comments rather than regurgitated media releases/spec sheets), or in the Apple AV adaptor case, it supports 4K@60Hz but refuses to charge non Macbook devices. As I noted in my comment earlier though, the key spec omission is lack of gigabit ethernet (it's only 100Mbit ethernet) but at least I haven't had any issues with performance vs my UGreen USB-C hubs which ocassionally overheat if not plugged into a laptop and bring down the rest of my network.

Hopefully this helps others who are looking for the specific 4K@60Hz and USB-C PD for their laptop. If it wasn't for this need, I probably wouldn't have bought one.

They are pretty handy if you're swapping between a work laptop and personal laptop like I do.
For just over $20 you get the convenience of not having to unplug and replug a keyboard, mouse and monitor, and potentially USB C PD cable.

I understand the use case - I use one as well. The comment is more a criticism of this particular item (or set of items).

    • How/why would you use one of these with chromecast

        • +1

Not sure why you are getting negged for your comment, which I found useful. Have a + from me.
I too am looking for USB hub for my CCGTV but the ones that work seem to cost as much as the CCGTV itself, so not worth it for me. If I could find one for $20-30 I would get one. If anyone has found a cheaper USB hub that works, please share.

  • isnt 87W quite low for most use cases?

    • Nope.

My work and non gaming laptop only need a 60w USB C adaptor.

    • No. Only real hog computers like the macbook pro 16" suck down more.

    • Works fine for pretty much any non gaming laptop/laptop with discrete GPU and charges over USB C (eg most ultrabooks/laptops, Macbooks, etc). Easy comparison point is to see what the specs of the USB-C charging brick included with the respective laptop is. If the laptop can only charge through a barrel (not USB C) and a giant power brick then chances are this isn't the hub for you.

  • With these 'optimised' titles, far out it's hard to compare all 4 of these items.

    Just list the damn features (eg. 3x USB A, 1x USB C, 1x HDMI…)

  • Thanks Op, this will be good for my wifes new ASUS Zenbook

  • I've got mine today. It seems to work fine but it runs incredibly hot.
I could probably cook a small egg on it.
