  • If you have access to an edu email address the Lenovo education portal has a few options that will meet your needs

  • Look out for the upcoming Black Friday deals especially for Lenovo laptops.

During the last EOFY sale, I bought this for about $770 with Cashrewards cashback. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/635164

    • Thanks, thats a steal. How's the laptop going. It's currently on ebay with 20% off for $1,095, hence I might wait.

      • Laptop is going great. Mostly use it for videos and light gaming. There’s a newer version Gen 3, the one I bought was Gen 2. My experience with Lenovo AMD Ryzen laptops have been positive thus far.

Had bad experiences with Acer, HP and MSI laptops, so was looking for a new laptop brand to try.

cheers mate, i heard good words about AMD and lenovo as well

          • @mkh1991: I'm after the E14 Gen 3 AMD ($863 EDUCOMM) but the sales reps have advised all custom builds have 10-12 weeks shipping and 10 days delivery. Reviews say the E14 build isn't that sturdy, so be careful if you're carrying it around. When you're in the lenovo education store, chat to the sales agent and they'll reduce the price further. For price reference, they offered the ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 AMD WWAN for $100 less. Make sure you chat with them about delivery time too, as the website actually underestimates it. The ideapad slim 5 has a better screen but the E14 has slots for additional memory/storage and ethernet port, if that matters to you.

            • @coveredturnip: Thanks mate for the input, defo will go for sturdiness.

              • @mkh1991: Also, I have 12 years old Lenovo and rep confirmed they can buyback ti as well :)

              • @mkh1991: Have a look at the T14 gen 2 AMD if you want something sturdier than the E14. It has better port selection and build. IIRC the E14 keyboard is a bit better. It’s around $1.2k though and if you don’t mind waiting 3-4 months :) For under $1k I still think the best option is E14 AMD G3 even if it’s not built like a tank - have a look at the notebook check review.

  • I have access to Samsung EPP, Jb Commerical, Good Guys Commerical, and Lenovo Edu/EPP.

    • IdeaPad Slim 5 14" AMD on Lenovo Edu? Looks like you can pick up a customised one with Ryzen 5500U/16gb/256gb for $985. Just be aware of shipping time.

Although TBH that is a fairly normal price, I would wait and see what the next week or so brings.

      • Thanks mate, do you have a link handy?

        • Sure try this. Might only work once you are logged in. Sorry, also need to use the code EDUCOMM.

        • Could also look at the Slim 5 Pro 14" for $1,111 after using same discount code, for better build quality, slightly better processor (5600U), 512gb SSD, better screen, USBC charging, etc. Link here

  • refurbished Lenovo carbon x1

  • you may wanna tell us how you are going to use the laptop for? tell us what software you are going to use?
