ShopBack Vestiaire Collective $40 Bonus Challenge Didn’t Track :(

Just a reminder to everyone to never ever make a purchase using cash back if you wouldn’t make it anyway without. I use ShopBack and CashRewards a lot and can’t remember the last time I had a tracking issue… I think I know what to do to ensure tracking. Truth is I was lured by the generous bonus and the fact that cash back seemed so reliable… So, I activated the challenge and bought a nice (expensive) scarf from Vestiaire. 48 hours later no tracking and VC have refused to cancel the order. Be warned, there is a statutory 14 days cooling off for online purchases in EU but there is a loophole for individual sellers that Vestiaire exploits. As far as the sale ‘not tracking’, it has been recorded in my click history which matches the sale time, and I’m sure ShopBack will argue their case, but in the end it’s at the merchant’s discretion. There’s lots of anecdotes here about how the little purchases track, but the big ones don’t, I assume merchants have some wiggle room on whether they will honour their end. Maybe I didn’t spend enough? Who knows but I don’t think I’ll be getting my $40. I feel like I was sucked in to making a purchase I wouldn’t have otherwise made. Fair warning if you were thinking of using this deal!
