Been looking for one of these for a while.

Not the best price ever, but still good. Was $249.

  • Micro-USB…

    • I agree it would be nicer with USB-C. However for something like this that you aren’t charging everyday I can compromise.

  • +1

Heart Health, Vascular Age, BMI, Fat, Muscle and Bone Mass, Water Percentage

Standing on a scale can give you an accurate measurement of all that. Colour me sceptical.

"Colour me sceptical." - our yankee spelling friend does not like that sentence.

  • The wifi requirement for these devices is disappointing, it should have been designed for Bluetooth connection with your phone. I don't use my Withings forehead thermometer because it insists on connecting to my main wifi rather than guest network where I could isolate it as an IOT device.

    • +1

My Withings scale connects to my IoT network just fine.

      • Sure, but can it also connect to their app on your phone through that same IoT network without switching your phone wifi ?

        • It sure does.

Mind you all my traffic goes through a RPi that does some tricky routing to make everything work, so perhaps I should qualify that it is possible.

    • AFAIK you can also set scale up using Bluetooth if you don’t have a wifi connection.

  • Thanks OP, bought one. I was looking to buy one a scale literally last night, then gave up with the price. This scale was $249 last night.

  • Body+ is also on sale ($107). Would argue that the additional features are a bit superfluous, and the Body + would meet 98% or the average user needs.

Am monitoring HR but via Samsung Watch 4- not sure why I need to monitor my HR via my scales once every couple of day? It's elevated to because I am always apprehensive (cortisol) when on the bloody things too, so again about pointless and the Body+ is just fine.

    I got one of these.

It always gives weight, but the other readings often don’t happen.
Found others with same issue online.
    Look into it before buying!

    (I returned mine)

I had the same problem and returned mine too, it's too expensive to not work properly.

Of note, I don’t believe the pulse wave velocity (PWV) feature is available in Australia (again) yet. It was available and then removed, and has so far only been activated in some European countries (and maybe the USA?). I have this scale and it is yet to be activated. I am not sure whether PWV will be of interest to most people though, it is a useful measure of arterial stiffness, but it is still not widely used in clinical practice, and even the gold standard isn’t overly sensitive to change over time while the Withings scales report values that are about 10% different to gold standard. Scales are great though otherwise.
