My friend bought one of these (Makita corded mitre saw) and left it in my shed, and it got flooded during the late winter rains. I haven’t been game to start it up - will it still go, is there anything I should do before trying to start it, or is it likely cooked and will require me to buy a replacement such as the above?

  I still have a circular saw that got the same treatment. Still runs, but is noticeably rusted. I would dry it out with a lanolin spray or something and hope. Gear up before you test it!

  Take it apart and drench it in electrical spray. That's what's it's for.
