Thoughts on Black Friday Deals 2021

In previous years OzBargain was awash with Black Friday deals in the week leading up.
This year it seems very quiet. Are there not many deals? Or am I looking too early?

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

but how many of those are from random small time dropshippers offering stuff not many people care about

  • Thanks for the link. I'm not so much early as looking in the wrong place

  • What kind of things do you after?

  • Not many retailers can do deals that cut throat / a lot of stuff is delayed due to 10x shipping costs and 10x delays.

I feel like everyone has already released their black Friday sales, which is very tame so far and basically just normal sale prices. Which makes me think that there will be very few actual deals on Friday.

Take Amazon for example. Don't they always have a few deals that are actual bargains? Nintendo Switch, Samsung phone etc. Are they still going to release those on Friday, or are we just getting the boring black Friday deals they've already released?

Of course this is the one year where I actually have a few things I need to buy, so it's a bit disappointing.

Companies can't do black friday deals anymore. They'll get cancelled for being racist

This year is a bit of a bust. There are some exceptions but for the most part a deal this year means paying 2.5x retail for a graphics card instead of 3x.

    • Scorptec usually have good deals on BF. Maybe not for GPUs but other stuff

      • +1

I stand corrected. Scorptec is garbage this year as are most BF "deals."

  • Merged from Do You Think Black Friday 2021 Was/is a Let Down?

How did you find it? I thought it was pretty underwhelming.

    • it's not finished
      .

    • seems everybody is cashed up, all the good stuff gone too quick

Eh these major sale days are just a scam.

They know people hanging out and will lap up any discount assuming it's a good deal.

eBay deal in particular is pathetic. Better when they have 20% selected retailers that include some big hitters.

Every year just confirms that BF deals in Australia are rubbish compared to the USA. They're not proper deals and you hebe to check to see if they bumped the price up to make it look like a deal.

Pretty shit BF "deals". Crappy items from the usual suspects. Just give a decent %age discount across the board rather than random crap.

Merged from Is Anything Actually Cheaper on Black Friday ? This Whole Holiday Has Just Become a Mind Game for Multinationals

I really hate what black Friday has become, a consumerist holiday that plays on our insecurities of missing out, I don't actually think anything is actually cheaper too .

this has always been the case.. same with Boxing Day sales.

This BF sales pretty underwhelming, some items jacked up with the pretense of savings with discount codes.
