So there should be another 8 tool options added to make 15 total?

    • Yeah come on - add more tools, something I don't already have :)

  • Participating retailers include… Sydney Tools, Total Tools, Bunnings? Anyone know?

    • Yeah all of them usually. Be careful with bunnings though. If you get someone at the tool shop who doesn't know anything it will be a painful experience.

    • I wonder if Bunnings will be in this year as they reduced prices on several of those skins, maybe they'll be jacked back on Friday?

      • You can try and get Sydney Tools to price match Bunnings and then apply the $100 trade in. I don't like your chances though - Sydney Tools have refused price match every time for me (8 times in total). Last time they refused because they said the circular saw didn't match the exact one at Bunnings because Sydney Tools had listed incorrect saw blade size on their website…

        • Yeah they claimed as I wasn't trading an 18v tool I wasn't eligible. Dewalt CS later confirmed any voltage tool is accepted

          • @SwarleyAUS: My local Sydney Tools is right next to Bunnings so I just go in there and ask them to price match for the giggles of the excuse they provide as to why they can't, and then go and buy it cheaper from Bunnings.

Bunnings are included, picked up the brushless planer DCP 580 for $169 after the $100 trade in. Trade tools want $379 and Total tools $345 vs Bunnings $269! I'm sure in previous years Bunnings were the same price as ST and TT? The tool shop staff had no idea how to process the trade in but after about 20 minutes and several staff pow wows the deal was done!

    • Interesting, Bunnings guy said they weren't participating after getting as far as trying to apply the credit to my purchase. Another call to DeWalt CS is in order on Monday I guess…

Bunnings Maroochydore had all the dewalt promo literature ready on Friday. They still didn't know how to process the trade in discount !
I got confirmation from dewalt before going to Bunnings as they still hadn't listed participating retailers on their site!

        Hi Maurice,
Thank you for contacting us. For the participating retailers, Trade Tools, Total Tools, Sydney Tools and Bunnings are taking part for the trade in-trade up promo.

        Regards,
        JD from DEWALT"

        • My local didn't but they did today. Processed it after some minor issues almost without question

    • Picked up the same planer from Bunnings today. They didn't know how to process it but got there eventually.
Thinking about getting a circular saw as well, but I've never used a cordless one before - bit worried it'll be gutless.

I have the 54 circ saw and it has heaps of grunt, at least the same as other corded 7" saws. A lot of chippies I know run the standard 18v with no complaints. The Flexvolt batteries improve the performance of the 18v tools.
Of course if you want to say rip 75mm hardwood then a larger corded 9" saw will be better suited.
