LG C1 OLED with Evo Panels

Hi All,

so the LG C1 OLED's has been popular with the BFCM sales. After getting one myself I read that some of the LG C1's screen are built with the new evo panel that the G1 uses

Did you win the LG C1 evo lottery?

How to check:
- service remote
- if you see pink tint around the edges of your screen off-axis it's likely an evo panel

Also for those who know more about it, is there any benefit(s) having the evo panel on the C1?

Strange I was reading an article the other day saying LG are moving away from OLED as the led's are fading over time.

  • What do you mean by service remote?

    • it's a remote control that allows you to go into more settings on your LG TV

Amazon sells them for like $18 bucks

      • Well I have pink tint on the edges. Had it since day one 🤣 and to be honest I also have some vertical banding (very minor-does not affect viewing) but I got over that!

You saying its a possibility its an evo?

        • yeah most likely, if you have vertical banding try doing a pixel refresh which should fix it

        • The vertical banding indicates that you have the even newer Evo Plus. You lucky lucky bastard!

I don't believe theres a benefit to having the Evo panel as the firmware is still set to default C1 settings and if you do flash it with the Evo firmware you will void warranty

My factory remote turned up today. My C1 48" has the WBE panel (EVO). (To access the factory menu using the factory remote, press "IN START" button, then when it asks for a password, enter 0413). Finally was able to turn off Auto Dimming, which I found extremely annoying. (Access factory menu, select the OLED menu, turn off TPC and GSR).
