Scoot transaction charge

Just a heads up to other Scooters, I found a foreign transaction charge on my credit card.

Even though the amount I agreed to be billed was in AUD.

Not a big charge, but had I known it would have used a 28 degrees card.

So if you plan to Scoot, best remember there will be a conversion charge.

  • Yes you are right - even the one way ticket Sydney to Singapore which supposed to charge in AUD had overseas transaction charges!!!

I suspect if you bought a return ticket it will have a even higher conversion charge (tickets valued more)? Not good!

  • Hopefully most people bought 2 x oneway as it was cheaper to buy in two legs

And that I did put on the 28 degrees, just checked and no extra charge that I could see.

I guess with Scoot being new there not as much shared knowledge :)

  • I think the charge is for foreign processing of AUD payment.

  • I use 28Degrees CC for ALL overseas transactions, PayPal, eBay etc - just in case. It'll be handy for the trip too.

  • I booked return on my citibank platinum and was not charged any fees.
