Wusthof's Gourmet series are stamped/cut, whereas the Classic series are forged. Be aware that most of the time, when people talk about Wusthof knives, they're probably referring to one of their forged lines (Classic, Ikon etc.) and not these. IMO buying these ones would be just for the brand name, you really do need to get a forged one to step up in quality compared to something like a Victorinox
