I use Kayano 27 and is easily my go-to shoes, have used it on trial and road running multiple times and prefer it over Pegasus/UBs. For trails there may be better shoes available (eg Salomon) but Kayano works for me on the flat 4-5ks around my place.

Description from Amazon:
Engineered Mesh Upper - Multi-directional mesh material improves ventilation and stability.
Redesigned external heel counter - Helps keep the foot stable and provide a more comfortable stride.
Dynamic DuoMax Support System - This evolution of DuoMax system enhances stability and support, with reduced weight and increased platform support.
3D SPACE CONSTRUCTION - Improves compression and cushioning at footstrike and reduces pronation
Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Technology Cushioning System - Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.

    • No store location details in Australia, Is it legit business?

It just came up in a Google search. I don't know anything about them.

i love the kayanos too but would never pay for latest gen. haven't found a replacement for my $68 kayano 25s…ultraboosts are nice but for longer walks and uneven terrain, kayanos are best.

    • Where do you buy previous gen?

      • +1

got the $68 25s from kogan. i've also bought from catch in the past but their recent prices aren't so great. jim kidd occasionally has previous gens for sale but shipping kills it if you don't live in Perth to c&c

  • Is there a particular time of year when Kayano's come up on special? (Say before the latest one is released).

I haven't purchased a pair yet, but would like to at some point, when they are optimally priced.

I have owned Asics runners though, so just figure the quality etc is going to be even better in their flagship shoe?

It seems that a good price for the current Kayanos is $180 delivered.

And a good price for previous release Kayanos is $130 delivered.

You see much older ones coming up, but my experience with unworn shoes that are years old is not good. They seem to fall apart through lack of use??

but my experience with unworn shoes that are years old is not good. They seem to fall apart through lack of use??

i think it's just the age of the materials and the condition they're stored in. like a full hypebeast, temperature-controlled set-up with no exposure to sunlight might keep them going longer. but things like foam loses its elasticity over time, rubber becomes brittle etc. that said, i don't notice it much with my older shoes which are stored in a dark room anyway.

    • Yes, that's correct. ~180 is what I've seen for Kayano 27s. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic and in fact some reviewers rate 27 better than 28.

My 27 is coming apart fast and hence was looking to upgrade instead of another 27. If not for this deal, I'd prob end up buying another 27 for ~150-180 range. I don't have any complaints about them.

I couldn't see any 27s in Australia for ~130, maybe overseas stores?. I think 130 is a great price for 27. I bought mine for ~160 last year.

I'm in the market for some running/gym shoes but cant find anything today near previous bests.

    I was thinking

Asics Gel Kayano 27 or 28
    New Balance 1080v10 or 11
    Hoka Clifton 7 or 8

There's sales today but all a bit meh to me.

    Am I missing something?

    • +1

you aren't…a lot of the black friday sales are shit.

Or a similar spec shoe from another brand

Yes, no ripper deals on footwear on this BF at all. My last two buys were almost 60/80$ off (Kayano and Nike)..

Been looking for a while but the price doesn't seem to come down and my shoes are coming apart.. anyway, they are Kayanos hopefully the quality would last.
