ALDI 8.0ah Batteries Are Incompatible with Some ALDI Products

Picked couple of 8.0AH batteries last night and to my surprise they don't fit into my aldi lawn mower and into aldi chainsaw. Are just too big to fit into the battery slots. Contacted aldi and they apologized and advised to return the batteries.

  • Do they claim to fit all ALDI products?

    • +2

Yes they do. On the battery box it is stated "100% xfinity compatible" + there are images of brands: workzone titanium, gardenline and ferrex. My mower is gardenline and my chainsaw is ferrex, both are designed to use xfinity batteries.

        That's bad

    Sorry to hear Pam

    Oh wait

  • Xfinity plus or ultra? ultra uses 21700 batteries and it's wider.

    • these are ultra, the plus version goes only up to 4AH

      • But your tools might design for plus.

        • Ooooffh. OP?

        • No, my tools are designed to work with xfinity batteries. And on the battery box it's stated "100% xfinity compatible".

  • Contacted aldi and they apologized and advised to return the batteries.

So what would you like us to do?

Nothing, it's info to consider if you think about getting these batteries.

    • Seems like a PSA more than an asking for advice thread.

      • I don't see a question in the post, just statements
Yes, it could have been labelled as PSA or FYI
        .

  • not sure about the lawn mower but obviously not fit the chainsaw sharpener because it only fit the old 2ah/4ah battery due to the width of the cut out. 21700 is longer so the 8ah is wider.

  • Damn, explains why i managed to get unopened ones for a bargain on FB Marketplace.

Anyone know what cells are in there and if worth shucking?

    EDIT
Just unpacked one, fits my previous series Xfinity, current Ferex, and last generation PowerG (Autobarn) but not the current GT range (Autobarn) due to the 3d pin that is aligned to the blocked off metal bit on battery
