Need help with Dell Inspiron 15R (2nd Gen Intel Core i7, 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD)

Hello,

I see a 40% off deal of Dell Inspiron 15R at $779 (specs at http://www.dell.com/au/p/inspiron-15r-n5110/pd?oc=u510320au&…) and wonder if it is good to buy it. I want to have an all-rounder laptop for my study without using a desktop any more. I haven't used Dell laptop before but HP, Toshiba and Compaq so I would like to hear your valuable opinions.

What's more, it says its power option is 130W AC Adapter For Australia/New Zealand/Fiji/Papua New Guinea, whereas I will mainly use it in Vietnam after my graduation in one year. Voltage in Australia is 230V whereas in Vietnam is 220V; should this laptop be well adaptable to 220V voltage as I will stay there long?

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks very much.

voltage is ok, they self regulate. price is ok too as the model you picked has 8gb of mem & larger hd but you could save $100, buy the one under on sale & upgrade yourself to 8gb and a ssd hd… use the built in one as an external by buying a travel adaptor/case…

    • Thanks very much srhardy. I do not have any knowledge on hardware and therefore may not save $100 as you suggest. I will ask if any friend can help me with that. By the way, if I upgrade to 8gb and 1tb ssd hd, I doubt I can't get warranty from Dell in case of problems.
