Looking for a cheap good quality car sun shade

I don't know if it's because I always buy the cheapest sun shades but they always fall off from the heat when I put them in my car. I once even got a fine because it fell and blocked the view of my ticket. I currently have a kmart one - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/front-accordion-sunshade---… and thought about just buying spare suction cups off aliexpress but was wondering if there is a better more permanent solution?

  • Not sure what car you have, my guess is, your sunshade’s height is much “shorter” than your car’s windscreen?… get one with a higher height coverage, if that is a cause.

It is a mitsubishi lancer 2008 and you're right, the sun shade is shorter than the height of the window. I will look for something more specific to my car to see if it helps.

    • Yep this. If your sunshade is the right size, you can jam it between the windshield and dashboard to support the bottom, and the sun visors to support the top. Suction cups are useless.

Fit your sun shade in the window and then pull down both driver and passenger sun visors so that the sun-shade is held in place by the visors. You may find you don't need the suction to work if you do this.

  • these folding ones are the best, last a life time: https://www.amazon.com.au/kinder-Fluff-Windshield-Luxurious-….

easy to find, my local dollar shop has them.

always use the window visor to prop up the shade as well.

Beach towel over the windscreen, held in place by the A pillars and the doors shut onto the edges

I use the kmart ones. I don't use the suction caps. In fact, I pulled them off. I just pull down the sun visors to hold it in place. Works well on both my vehicles.

    • +1 for the Kmart ones
