  • that was amazing. my future dream wife.

  • The individual in question closed all of the pizza hut bars in china. No idea how many that is, but…. wow.

    • I'd consider that a public service! I had the misfortune to have Pizza Hut in China a couple of times, quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had in a very long life!!! ;)

      • Unfortunately the salad bar challenge only closed the salad bars, not Pizza Hut. But I can imagine the quality of pizza in other countries, having eaten overseas disasters ranging from soggy pizza to salty cheese to indifferent sauce base. We're so lucky that we have good pizza here.

        • Yep, we do have a couple of good pizzarias in Oz, but they can really be hit or miss!

I just found Pizza Hut in China to be consistently & particularly bad. And for some bloody reason my Chinese friends all seem to want to go there when I'm in China. I've had pizza in many other parts of Asia (Japan, Indo, Thailand, Sg & Mly) and whilst they're not up to our spec, they're nowhere near as bad as China! :o

The US has the best pizza hands down IMHO, you can pretty much consistently get a decent slice in most major cities/states there!

I know that the mafia might put a hit on me for this comment, but I reckon US pizza is better than those I tried in Italy! NY pizza & Chicago deep dish are worth the flight alone! :D

  • its kinda silly as no one really is THAT much in love with salad

i mean cucumber slices? carrot sticks? talk about bland

    • +1

I think it is more the challenge. Also being a 1 visit only situation, you may be able to share with a whole table.

I was doing consulting in Cleveland Ohio. The location was across the street from a fast food place called Wendy's. Wendy's had a salad bar. If you ate there, you got a plate. If you got it to go, You got a large clamshell styro container. Both were one visit deals. Most of the people in Cleveland OH were obese, to the extreme. Most of them got the salad bar to go. they'd belly up to the salad bar with the container on a tray and fill both halves up, well past capacity. I think they generally had a partner telling them "more o dat" "uyh huh, that's right, more dressing. mmm" I think they then usually sat down with the other person and both would have at it.

This clamshell was about 30X30X12. They had a lot of unhealthy stuff on that salad bar.

You could eat as healthy or unhealthy as you wanted at that Wendy's.

When I had previously done some consulting, it was in Cincinnati. There were a few Chinese places near where I was working. Without exception, they would absolutely load these conatiners up as much as the customers wanted and then…..They would offer to cover the whole lot with……Gravy. Not exactly chinese. I never tried it and never asked, but the majority of the clientele would have them fill it up with gravy until the gravy had filled all the spaces between the rice and the other bits and pieces and was threatening to lap up over the edge of the styro container. I can still remember the "Ummm Huh, Hon, yeah, some more in there. mmmm huh"

      • i agree it's a challenge.

      • -.-''

gravy… Might as well call it Rice Soup with Gravy. or Gravy Congee.

This is not chinese, just take-away American Chinese.

        shivers

  • Thanks for the post, good laugh. Search for images on google everyone.

  • I am in Bangkok at the moment and can confirm that the Bangkok Pizza Hut at MBK does not have a salad bar!
