Changing Orthodontist (from Overseas)

I am thinking to get braces done while I live overseas. But I won't be able to finish the treatment before I go back to Australia. Does anyone have experience of changing orthodontist especially when starting the treatment not in Australia?

Thanks!

They'll charge you as if you're starting treatment new in Australia. You're not paying for the completion of your treatment but rather the liability the new practitioner takes on when they take over the case.

  • Hi,
You can continue the treatment when you return from overseas.
However on your return they may treat your case differently, so they may have to do new records and an assessment. Providing your records from your original orthodontist will help a lot in determining the appropriate treatment and care on your return.
