Great games! Remember them being quite enjoyable as a kid. Not sure how well they've aged however..

At first I was pining for a HD remake of The Curse of Monkey Island but I recently played the version on steam and it's actually still pretty alright.

I played the first one in glorious EGA a few weeks ago, almost 30 years after playing the first time. It was quite fun, albeit graphically challenged, and I had forgotten almost all the puzzles and jokes, so it was pretty fresh, and a nice taste of what Alzheimer’s will bring me one day.

Started the second, and I’ll keep at it, with it’s glorious VGA colour palette.

My suggestion is to check the game keys sites if you don’t want/need to buy all the titles. They have been in bundles, so show up there cheap.

Playing these now with my 7 year old. He's having a blast! He's writing down the sword fighting insults and their answers on paper like I did 30 years ago!

Thanks Op. While I was on the website I searched for C&C Red Alert and see that it is now $15 for the remastered edition. maybe another candidate for people who is also searching for old games to relive the past?

I'd love to see Pixar make a Monkey Island movie

    • Unfortunately not going to happen as the House of Mouse (that owns Lucasarts) already has a quite successful pirate franchise - Pirates of the Caribbean

  • If you can look past the graphics this was a really clever game for the time and hurt my little 10 year old brain.
