PayPal in 4 Refund Question

Hi guys,

I am going to get a refund from a Matchesfashion purchase that i will be returning tomorrow.

I used the Paypal in 4 method for the purchase , and i have already paid the first installment.
(Next one is due on the 6th of Dec)

Will Paypal refund the installments that i have paid ? (I know that Matchesfashion will refund the entire amount less shipping cost back to my credit card)

Just like to know how the entire process works.

Thank you.

  • Withdrawal from the purchase contract

If you have the ability to withdraw from your purchase contract to which this Contract relates, for example by returning the goods to the merchant, in most cases the merchant will credit any applicable funds back to your Pay in 4 Plan. This amount will be used to satisfy any Credit Amount outstanding.

    Really?

and i have already paid the first installment.

I'm pretty certain PayPal will credit this amount back to your original payment source

any installment paid will be refunded to your PayPal balance. not the credit card.

  • Not familiar with this pay in 4, bit the refund process should be pretty standard. You will get back whatever you have paid minus any non refundable amount for example shipping cost for change of mind return.

  • If they're paying the full amount back to your credit card and not to your paypal account, paypal will likely expect you to make the rest of the payments. Why would they refund you if they haven't gotten their money back?

Otherwise it should be a standard paypal refund, supplier reverses paypal transaction, paypal refund to you whatever you have paid already.

dodgy merchant. they should not be doing this.
