Is this a deal or a warning?
Is the product fit for purpose?

    • +2

Its good value if you're riding on relatively flat gradients

      • +4

In other words, it is a good mountain bike if you don't have mountains.

        • +1

TBH, most 'mountain bike' riders don't go near any mountains.

WARNING: THE MOTOR CUTS OUT QUICKLY ON MODERATELY STEEP HILLS

Going up or down a hill? Going down makes sense simply due to getting up speed, but if it cuts out going up a hill that kills half the point of having an electric bike.

    $99 bike with a $600 electric upgrade :-)
Are there any specs on the motor? Must be geared inside to be so compact, but that's a point of failure.
When the plastic cogs break, how easy to replace?

    THE MOTOR CUTS OUT QUICKLY

You mean not enough torque, or the controller actually cuts the power?

That's in the OP already. Or have you had this issue also?

      • +7

        Are you torquing to me?

  • +5

    OP weighs 250kg

  • Some not so pleasant reviews at the end!! I would stay away from buying hi tech bikes from Kogan in case of warranty / repairs.

    • +3

Doesn't seem like hi tech if it cuts out

      • +5

Au contraire, the Bluetooth 5.2 technology ensures that your phone will almost instantly receive the notification that the drive has cut out as you topple over while ascending a 3 degree incline

        • +1

ultralight 700c frame means that when you fall with it on top of you it will only give you moderate bruising instead of shattering your femur.

  • $799 for non-First members

  • Not much detail in the specs.

Beware that googling may indicate this is a mid-drive Bafang, but that's actually a different model.

Note that it deducts a further 10% once its added to cart as part of the BF sales, expires 1/12

Whatever made me think that the whole idea of riding a bicycle was for exercise?
You know,as in pedalling it……and as opposed to sitting on your fat arse and speeding along pedestrian walkways and footpaths on an electric powered one?

    • This is pedal assistance. The type you're talking about aren't legal.

    • +1

This may be a shock to you, but bicycles can be used to commute too

  • -3

    same thing in reality….

  • Any recommendations for quality bikes?
