Gearbite Sent Me a Used Replacement Head for My Dreame T20 Vacuum Cleaner

In March 2021 I purchased the T20 Dreame T20 Vacuum Cleaner complete kit from Gearbite and the speed of delivery and quality of the product was impressive until the head stopped working 5 months later. Gearbite asked me to return the head to them, so I did.

It was sent back in Oct 15th and has been stuck in the postal system since with no additional tracking from when I dropped it off at the post office. So I then asked Gearbite to please send me a replacement head as the vacuum is useless for me without it.

They sent me a photo of the head to send and it was dirty and used, so I asked them to please not send me a used vacuum head especially during current Covid times. They agreed and stated they will send a new head out. I ended up receiving a used dirty replacement head.

After I brought this to their attention, they are now claiming they don't have any new T20 heads left and want to replace it with a older (from my knowledge) inferior model V11 head.

Of course I am not happy with receiving a replacement part that is not the quality of the part it's replacing.

Any one gone through this? Any advice or help on this or dealing with Gearbite would be appreciated as I feel for the $600 I spent on a vacuum cleaner I should not be having this experience.

Thanks in advance

Is the replacement one just until they get your one repaired/replaced? Seems reasonable enough to give you a loaner until that happens.

If it's the permanent replacement then that's a bit crap. But you're not likely to catch covid off it.

    • I have asked this a couple of times and each time i have not received a definite answer to this.
I also asked them to call me to discuss this in one go instead on email ping pong and hey ignored this request.

one time they commented they could send out a new V11 head as per
      https://www.gearbite.com.au/products/grey-carpet-roller-head…

      so i asked
"OK, if you send me the V11 Head tomorrow. Then when you receive my faultyT20 head can you confirm you will repair this and return it to me?
If you will do this for me then please send me the V11 head and I will use this until you are able to repair and return my T20 head"
      they replied with
"We have check with our tech team, we can find the T20 roller for you, but it is replacement, not for new one, do you want to V11 head or T20 head?"

      I then asked
"what is the differene between the v11 and the t20 head??"

      to this they replied
"This project is a smile project, but V11 is more suitable for carpets and more stable"

I then stated I dont have any carpet in the house.

they then recommended a even older V9 model head as per below

"If your home is more than tiles, we can offer this version for you, this is batter than hard floor and we can offer the new one for you

This is getting a bit annoying as a phone call would solve this in one go

The head stopped working after only 5 months. I think if Gearbite is not prepared to source the part for warranty, they should just refund you the whole kit.

Mistake was giving Gearbite $600 lol, count yourself lucky you received anything in the first place.

    • I received the item within 3 days from paying and it worked incredibly well when it was working.
The big problem is the non existent phone support that will solve any problems i have in a matter of minutes instead of this time wasting process they offer via poor emails communication.
oh and not having the replacement part.

honestly F gearbite. Such a pain in the arse to deal with.

  • You can have a 5 month old one

i can understand spending 200 for dreame , but not 600

you can easily get dyson / miele stick for that kind of money when you're spending over 600

dyson customer service is top notch

  • has anyone got any experience with these models as i need to understand which vacuum head is the most reliable and efficient.
from the T20 model i purchased
    to the V11
    https://www.gearbite.com.au/products/grey-carpet-roller-head…
    and the V9
    https://www.gearbite.com.au/collections/vacuum-accessories/p…

Again I would be grateful for any info comparing these or dealing with gearbite to get a good outcome
    Thanks

  • I spent $400 for my Dreame T20 in May, Head broke after 1 month - they sent a new one. It broke again in November, so I sent it back. Just received the replacement head today (2 weeks post to them, 2 weeks for them to 'fix' it, and 2.5 weeks for them to post it back to Metro Perth) - it looks like my old one!! Still dirty, and worst of all the problem is still there! Would lodge a complaint to the Dept of Commerce soon if I don't get a full refund from them.

Terrible product, terrible customer service. Tried emailing them, calling them and messaged them on Facebook - no response.

  • We’ve just had the V11 (purchased March 2021 from gearbite) taken to a vacuum repair place as it stopped working. They isolated it to the trigger pcb, got in contact with Dreame, only to be told that the vacuum and its parts have been discontinued, meaning we’ve now got to buy something else.

So it’s not surprising to hear your issue with Dreame/Gearbite. Unfortunately this doesn’t help your problem… but at least there was a solution.
