What's the best value/cheapest data sim plan (prepaid or postpaid) for an iPad (or tablets in general)? I intend to only use it to check mail and do casual browsing every now and then. 1gb a month should be more than enough for my needs.
I was thinking of the LiveConnected $11/month plan with 1.5gb data, but they wanted a $150 up front deposit for it so I'm not too keen on it now.
Any other tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

On woolworths every 45 days you get 5gb data, its $29 for 45 days. So $20 a month… but probably a bit much for your needs
I use Telstra Prepaid SIM. For $150 you get 12GB over 365 days.

Where does it say liveconnected has a 150$ upfront fee? I just got mine and i only paid 20$ for sim + express delivery and 11$ for the tribe 11 plan?
They said I didn't meet their internal credit check (probably because I'm a uni student with no credit history lol) so I'd have to pay a $150 up front deposit. Which is kinda lame because a whole year of the plan ($120) would be less than the upfront deposit.
The $150 deposit is fully refundable, but only after paying off the last bill…Seems like a waste as that $150 could be invested somewhere and have better return value. Not to mention what if the company collapses and I never get my $150 back.

Hmm well that's strange then. I don't have any loans, debts, leases or unpaid bills :S Might try to get in touch with them to see why I got refused.

i use boost $10 for 1 gb/30 days on prepaid.
Virgin $99 prepaid for 10GB. 365 day expiry
