Cheapest Nokia with GPS function

Hi Guys

Read some posts about the free GPS function offered by Nokia mobile. I am wondering which model is the cheapest model that has GPS function. I am looking for one that is less than $150, or I am better off to buy a GPS device.

I don;t follow the mobile too close and still using a 5-year-old one that is too "stupid" to be called "smart".

Thanks

Vince

  • Eeehh… why not an Android phone instead?

Most Nokia phones under that price point usually lacks a touchscreen, and they are often small-screen devices. For e.g Nokia E71. While they may be OK as phones, they make pretty half-assed GPS's and the Symbian interface isn't great either.

For over $150 you could consider a Nokia 5230 which has a resistive touch screen but this is poor value compared to many Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy Gio or Galaxy Fit.

In other words, not worthwhile — for $150 dollars, I would rather buy a 3.5 inch Android phone and then use the NavFree app which offers free offline navigation for over 10 countries.

    • but they do have free maps which you can use without any data, so they are quite useful for overseas trips. I've tried one in aus and it worked really well so assume it should be the same for O/S. But Navfree sounds like a good alternative, but the maps through nokia are really comprehensive and it's all inbuilt.
