How are you mounting your Logitech G27 tonight?

Thanks again to cheapo.one for posting such a great deal! was a mad rush as soon as I saw the post to the local DSE. Picked one up and couldn't be happier with it, such a huge upgrade from the DFGT!

Now lots of us snapped these up today and I'm sure everyone has atleast had a go at them, so my question is how have you mounted them up?

It's quite evident that this wheel really needs a sturdy mount and also a comfortable seating position, i could get away with mounting the DFGT on a small foldable chair and sitting under it, but that doesn't work with the g27. I tried mounting it on a small side table but I couldn't get the seating position right.

I'm thinking at some stage I will get a nice comfy bucket seat and build some sort of frame around it, but until i figure out a design whats the best DIY improvised mount? Would love to play some GT5 but i keep pulling the gearbox/wheel off the table.

  • Struggling. Now I'm looking all over the net for a decent cockpit to mount it…

    • I'm using the Fanatec wheel/shifters/pedals, but the cockpits from Pagnian Imports (see my blogpost here http://clubduh.com/blog/2010/12/31/gt5-heaven/) is supplied with G25/G27 mounting hardware.

    • Yea me too, maybe we can compile our options in here if you don't mind posting what you find.

  • I used to use a folding saw horse to mount my G25 and it was pretty sturdy and a good height. I just took delivery of a proper mount from http://www.apiga.com.hk/en/ap2.html (also on ebay), took under a month to ship, it is sturdy and made of heavy gauge steel, and comes with a free gearshift attachment.

I only got the front half because I only have a small place and have nowhere to store a seat assembly, although I'd dearly love one.

lol…read the title the wrong way (i have a dirty mind)

Not sure if that would be too comfortable..although if the Force Feedback is vibrating it might the ok ;-)

      • Might be a bit too strong…lol.

        • You can adjust the sensitivity though in the G Series Profiler

    • I'm guessing you won't be using the sequential shifter then …

    • How much? Would like one that is easily collapsible for storage.

    • That's really nice. Do you know how much they go for?
