Best Time to Buy a Nice Christmas Tree?

What's the best time to buy a nice Christmas tree?

Current one is on its last legs. Also we moved to a place that has high ceilings, so looking for something to better fill the space. We've got a whole year to wait for the right time, just want to know when it is.

Saw some decent sales over Black Friday weekend at Myer and Balsam Hill but didn't really think to pull the trigger. Unfortunately a lot of the popular styles are now sold out.

@jv: I didn’t like it.. plastic trees are better. The trees on the side of the road are always in bad shape.

Aldi's $99 pre-lit Xmas tree that usually is out beginning of November is a nice tree. For $99 full price is alot of tree and lights. Easy to put together.

  • Boxing day sales would be a pretty good day, but as others have mentioned your selection would be limited. If you're after something to fill the high ceilings you mind find that the range (even pre boxing day sales) isn't the best at the traditional brick and mortar stores.

If you're looking at Balsam Hill trees, you might like to look at David Jones. They have trees with a relatively large number of tips so might be a more comparable choice to than one from say Kmart or Aldi. They also have a tree 270cm! to fill that high ceiling!

    • DJs also aren't currently on sale so maybe less likely to sell before they reduce the price.
