Looking for a 29" Premium Aldi Mountain Bike $469

Hi, been keeping an eye out for one of these bikes in a medium for a while.
They were a special buy last month, but I couldn't find them anywhere in Sydney.

I know the components aren't as good as the 2020 model, but for the price I think it will be fine for an entry level mountain bike.
Has anyone seen an M size in their local store, if you have could you please let me know which one.

    Griffith store had one in each size last time I was there……
    About a week ago.

    But of a drive though!

      Thanks, they only keep that running for 4 weeks, so it no longer shows.

    Hey mate, I think you would be better off buying something better on the second hand market. The old Aldi mountain bike was a great buy, but this new estate one definitely isn’t, and not worth the near $500 price tag imo.

      Agreed the only thing premium about bike is the title.

        mechanical disc brakes instead of hydraulic, no name shocks, 1x9 no-name vs 1x10 deore drivetrain

              @noddypiper: $469 doesnt get you much mtb…supermarket bike components basically & thats what this sounds like
              aldi used to be more like a $7-800 (polygon) bike…more akin to an entry level hardtail & thats why it was so popular

                I actually purchased the 2020 model (or I thought I did) second hand for FB marketplace.
                Went to pick it up and another person was there, the seller sold it to 2 of us and wanted a bidding war to get the best price.
                It was like new, agreed at $350, and I went up another 20, but the other guy had more cash on him.

                Very disappointing, but I'm sure my 14yr old son will be happy with whatever he gets.

                  wish there were more options for you. maybe find a 2nd hand entry brand mtb on the usual places?
                  factor in some dollars for a bike shop service to make sure its safe and good to go

        Full price. I would have grabbed it myself if it was reduced. It's likely still there; high value items tend to hang around inside the Merrylands and Guildford stores.

    These bikes are mythical. I've never seen one in store nor out in the wild.

    A while ago before the Aldi stock checker existed I called them up and they were able to help me find stock of an item. You could try and do the same if you can’t find one.

      Sounds like a decent price. It’s a budget bike. At $469 it wasn’t as good value as last years offering, but at $240 will do fine, just not for serious off road work.

      Hi Screach, I know this is a long shot but if you are in the store, and they still have them could you take a pic and send it to me.
      A manager in a store which has 2 at full price said they would never sell them that low.

      I'm hoping if I can get proof, I can do a deal for the 2 left.
