        But Quiksilver I'd just leave because surf/beach culture and fashion is sort of my jam.

        My current version of this hat is a bunnings one, and I find Bunnings annoying but goddamn they stitch that logo into the hat's soul!

    i have a kmart that i got for cheap, perhaps $4. i don't think there is any technological advances in straw hats, so i figure u are just paying for the quicksilver name. straw is straw, lol.

    Rather than spend hours sanding a bit of pine, my 'tech' school days would have been better spent learning `simple' tricks such as spinning a rope or weaving a hat. This is almost priced high enough for me to think of how to make one, rather than picking them up when they are $4 or $5 on special. It's a brand after all.

    It's a nice sparkly weave, and A$1.98 takes you off the pueblo and into a panama. Arthritis would set in before I got to the skill and experience needed to imitate one of these.
